The bundle contains six reading comprehension activities, a timeline sorting activity and display, two biography writing units about Alexander the Great and Socrates, an informational text writing unit about Ancient Greece, and a discussion based writing activity about who was the most influential person from Ancient Greece. The activities are perfect for students in Year 3 or Year 4.
23 Lessons, or 23 hours of activities, with NO PREP needed!
Firstly, there are six reading comprehension activities, or informational texts, about:
An Overview of Ancient Greece
Socrates
Aristotle
Alexander the Great
Homer
Aesop
These activities require NO PREP and have a body of text that students need to read through thoroughly; then they can use the text to find the comprehension and grammar answers. All texts then have an extension activity for those fast finishers. Answers, for teacher use, are on the final page of each document.
Secondly, there are two biography writing units about Socrates and Alexander the Great. The units have been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.
Then, there is a great classroom display and sorting activity that is perfect for introducing students to some of the key events of Ancient Greece. There are 33 posters or task cards that include many of the key events and periods from the first settlers in Greece to the end of the empire. The posters look great as a display in the classroom and the cards are a brilliant introduction to Ancient Greece. The displays and cards come both with dates and without dates, so the students can research the dates online before sorting the timeline. The cards look even better when laminated.
Then, there is an informational text writing unit about Ancient Greece. The unit has also been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.
Finally, there is a discussion based writing unit discussing who is the most influential person from Ancient Greece. The unit has been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.
Good luck, I hope you get some great results!

A class set of activities might take around 15-20 minutes to mark; the teacher can then send the students their marks automatically, which allows them to read back through their work. Nearly all answers are not automatically generated, but only require a small amount of work to assign points. This is because the aim is to get students writing answers and not to just have multiple choice options.
Please ensure when you download this resource into Google Drive that you are logged in to the gmail account where you wish to store the activity. In the past teachers have downloaded resources into their school account in error. Thanks :)
