These are resources that I have used on multiple occasions, they are very thought provoking and excellent at developing empathy/ tackling difficult questions that students may have. The resource includes: > a PowerPoint for the lesson/assembly including activities and discussion questions > a separate PowerPoint of images and questions for students to consider (I used music as the images were playing) > an empathy worksheet for after the activity Multiple opportunities for AfL and feedback throughout the lesson, suitable for students throughout KS2, KS3 and KS4.

Developing Empathy Worksheet

This is a worksheet that I have used for a range of topics where students need to develop their empathetic skills by putting themselves in the position of someone else. Has been very powerful when used on topics such as: Holocaust Memorial Day and the Refugee Crisis, especially when paired with imagery or musical stimulus.

This lesson focuses on an introduction to ISIS and includes multiple opportunities for discussion, debate and collaborative work. Opportunities for assessment for learning throughout, resource includes the PowerPoint and worksheets in one document and the 5 minute lesson plan designed by Ross Morrison McGill.

This is a series of lessons that I used within a Yr.9 SOW on Philosophy and Citizenship. It gives students the opportunity to develop their skills in discussion and debate, research the topic and work in groups to perform a final assessed debate at the end of the term.
