A collection of differentiated lessons looking at key themes and scenes in the play Othello by William Shakespeare.
The lessons aim to help learners gain a comprehensive understanding of the play, without having to print a lot of resources in the process. The lessons all look at key scenes and help learners to build their understanding and attempt exam-style questions.

This is a fully differentiated lesson looking at the start of act five in the play Othello. The lesson looks at the contextual factors that influenced crime and punishment and how it may be applied to help understand the play.
The lesson focuses on the character of Iago and his development throughout the play and his ability to manipulate Roderigo to do his bidding. The lesson helps learners to understand some of the key concepts within the play, analyse key extracts of act five, and apply their understanding to an exam-style question.

This is a fully differentiated lesson helping learners to improve and develop their reading and writing skills. The lesson is ideal for learners studying any level of the functional skills qualification or KS3-KS4 English.
The first part of the lesson focuses on the effective use of adjectives to help express our views in an appropriate manner. The lesson then moves on with a sample reading assessment with answers provided on the PowerPoint.
The lesson uses the theme of Christmas to explore different forms of writing. The lesson also helps to improve writing skills and includes two model responses.
