FRACTIONS : ADD - SUBTRACT- MULTIPLY - DIVIDE Bundle
Are your Year 6s ready?
This bundle contains everything you need for a unit on teaching and revising calculation with fractions! Ideal for Years 5 and 6.
The two power point presentations cover step by step demonstrations of adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing fractions in clear, colourful and engaging slides. There are opportunities for children to practice skills through mini activities, practice using mathematical vocabulary and discuss reasoning through talk partner activities and review and evaluate their learning through plenary activities. There are also slides which review and revise simplifying fractions and converting mixed numbers and improper fractions.
The accompanying worksheets are differentiated at 3 levels: Easier (with completed examples for support), Age Related and Harder (for the genius in the class!)
These resources are also available separately.
In order to ensure that resources are of a high quality and meet the needs of the curriculum your comments are invaluable. Please review this resource. Thank you.
Direct and Reported Speech & Verb Tenses
This powerpoint revises the rules for changing direct speech to reported speech and vice versa. The focus is on what changes i.e. inverted commas, pronouns and verb tenses.
This is ideal for introducing the names of different verb tenses to Years 5 and 6 and gives the opportunity for pupils to practice changing speech from direct to reported as well as identifying the verb tenses.
Some of the example sentences are based on the book 'Street Child' and the resource was created as part of a unit writing a newspaper report. However - it can be used as a stand alone lesson.
Pronouns - Year 6 Revision
Different types of pronoun - Perfect revision for Upper KS2
This presentation revises pronouns with a particular focus on:
Personal Pronouns
Possessive Pronouns
Reflexive Pronouns
Relative Pronouns
It includes opportunities for children to identify the pronouns and insert the correct pronoun into sentences. There are SATs practice questions included on some of the slides.
To accompany the presentation I have created a work sheet of pronoun SATs questions for children to practice the different question types that could arise.

Properties of Number
Ideal for Y6 SATs Revision!
These resources will help children to revise and reinforce understanding of key number concepts and includes a range of opportunities for practice and explaining reasoning.
The following areas of number are covered:
Multiples
Factors
Prime Numbers & Prime Factors
Composite Numbers
Square, Cubed and Triangular Numbers
Divisibility Rules
A secure understanding of how numbers work and how concepts relate to one another provide a firm foundation for all other areas of maths .
This is particularly useful for Year 6 Revision.
Properties of Number - Year 6 Revision
An engaging presentation which is ideal for Year 6 revision of properties of number.
Animated slides include activities where children practice their knowledge and reasoning about numbers, including:
Factors, Multiples, Prime, Common Factors, Composite, Square, Cubed and Triangular numbers. Odd and even numbers are also referred to when solving a Carroll Diagram problem at the end of the lesson. Also includes a slide which explains perfect and abundant numbers which can be used as an investigation task.
An enjoyable lesson which reinforces previous knowledge about numbers as children approach SATs.
Written Calculation Methods
This resource is an animated demonstration of extended written methods of calculation which aim to give children a secure understanding of how calculations work before progressing to standard short written methods. The slides demonstrate each calculation as a clear, step by step process. The presentation can be used to teach or revise written methods in each operation and can also be printed as posters for class reference.
Shape - Translation
This resource introduces translation of shape clearly and simply. It can be used to demonstrate translation by moving shapes on a grid and children then have the opportunity to give original and new co-ordinates. Key shape vocabulary is reinforced: vertices, congruent, co-ordinates, position, translate/translation.
The worksheet that accompanies this resource can be found on the final slide and used to address any misconceptions through discussion as a plenary. A PDF of the resource is included.

Subtracting Fractions Worksheets
Fluency & Problem solving.
This resource includes differentiated work sheets for subtracting fractions with the same denominator, different denominators, mixed numbers and improper fractions. Answers are included with each worksheet. There is also a sheet with a few word problems to solve.
Easier Worksheet - 12 questions subtracting fractions with the same and different denominators. Completed examples are included for support.
Age Related Worksheet - 20 questions adding fractions with the same and different denominators, mixed numbers and improper fractions. Some of these are quite challenging!
Harder Worksheet - As above but more challenging and subtracting larger groups of fractions.
It is intended that pupils are already secure with converting mixed number and improper fractions as well as simplifying fractions before using these worksheets for subtracting fractions.
This resource complements my Fractions - Add and Subtract which is also available on this site.
