Art: Perspective & Victorian Architecture
This powerpoint presentation demonstrates the step by step techniques of drawing in 1 point and 2 point perspective. Essential vocabulary is introduced: linear perspective, vanishing point, orthogonal lines.
The presentation progresses into identifying and drawing typical features of Victorian architecture.
The final task is for pupils to design a Victorian house and draw it using either 1 point or 2 point perspective, including some typical Victorian features.
My Y6 class have loved learning how to draw in perspective and have produced some amazing artwork.
Any pictures used in this presentation were freely available online.
Direct and Reported Speech & Verb Tenses
This powerpoint revises the rules for changing direct speech to reported speech and vice versa. The focus is on what changes i.e. inverted commas, pronouns and verb tenses.
This is ideal for introducing the names of different verb tenses to Years 5 and 6 and gives the opportunity for pupils to practice changing speech from direct to reported as well as identifying the verb tenses.
Some of the example sentences are based on the book 'Street Child' and the resource was created as part of a unit writing a newspaper report. However - it can be used as a stand alone lesson.
SPAG SATs Analysis Spreadsheet - Sample Paper
I searched everywhere for a SAT Analysis Grid for the Y6 SPAG sample paper (published July 2015) and was unable to find one - so have created one.
I hope it is useful.
Feel free to adapt as required.
Please Review.
