A simple yet effective tool for classroom learning; student-mentoring; counselling; planning. At a personal-level I have had 'fantastic' results from students and individuals I've worked with in a mentoring-counselling capacity, more often leaving them to their own devices to create the detail. A highly-effective revision tool for any student, particularly those preparing for exams, to arrange their thoughts in order and gain that ever-so-important visual perspective of their work.

A study-support resource. I have used this with all year groups so students can document particular websites/sources and capture/document information they find at the sites. I find that by using a well set-out resource, it keeps them 'on-task'. It also acts as an excellent reference tool, when filed or kept inside of their books. This resource is four-page A4, containing 12 individual boxes and can be extended to suit. I find that the four-pages is enough 'per-task', e.g. per Book/Play/Poem.

A report/account of a method of 'silent' teaching/intervention.

Discussion and Debate sheet prompting student critical-thinking and wider subject interest. Used with Year 9's and 10's in 2016, prompting a discussion that spanned three lessons, with students choosing the 'hot seat' to constructively debate their point of view.

Include comments on the political system; thoughts on war; the media; cultural boundaries; your right as an individual to stand and voice your individual thoughts and feelings. Is the war about people and beliefs or money and resources, or both?

A simple but effective Timeline tool for use with Learners to assist their visual focus towards what they want to achieve in their lives. The resource can be adapted to assist personal development and reflection; exploring issues from the past that effect the future; target-setting; forward-planning. I use this tool generally on A3-paper and some of the results with individual learners have been very insightful.

A reading resource used within school and community-based settings as a tool to assist individuals coping with anxiety, isolation, lack of self-belief, suicidal thoughts or tendencies. The document was created by Tor Alexander Bruce, a Teacher and Learning Coach/Mentor, whose own life experience is discussed within the document.

A journey through France becomes a study text (Reading)when the student reads the information of a real-life journey and then plots their own trip, using a budget (Numeracy) of £600. The text is accompanied by a question sheet with the students then planning the resources (Life-Skills) and items required to successfully complete their treck. Can be used as an inspiration tool for students to plan their own wild camping, within France or (Geography) in any country. Written by Tor Alexander Bruce.
