A ten-page resource with all 12-chapters summarised in a table with a section for student-notes and comment alongside. Includes: Author background notes/Book context notes/Book title-meaning. Could be used throughout a whole-term as the students read the book in parallel, or printed in booklet-form and used as a research/study tool in itself.

This resource breaks down each scene into a manageable table and condenses the action from the play into 39 pages (prints as a double-sided 20-page booklet). A resource used in English to encourage the Learner to describe their own evidence of meeting outcomes in Reading, Writing, Analysing, Interpreting, Extrapolating, Discussing, Researching, Opinion-Sharing, Evaluating. The student level is measured using the Green, Amber, Red, with emphasis on the 'learner&' completing their own chart and gaining writing/typing/ICT skills as a result. Developed in classroom practice by Tor Alexander Bruce.

A Timeline constructed by Tor Alexander Bruce over several months from research via Books, Websites, Discussions, Library visits and DVD-viewing. The resource is a multi-page Excel-spread sheet, stemming from what we currently regard as the birth of the Universe, through each stage of the evolution of the picture we regard as the natural world, through to educated-views of where our human desire to exhaust all natural resources may lead us and the co-inhabitants of Earth. The document was originally compiled as a War-Chart, to highlight the varying stages of man's inhumanity to man, but the research led to documenting everything from archaeological discoveries resulting in greater knowledge of human development, to detailed information relating to prehistoric-earth; world leadership through the ages and facts relating to the resources that have allowed the human species to develop in the way they have.

This resource contains a photograph of the after-events of an incident involving vehicles on a road. The student is asked to analyse, write a persuasive argument to the authorities based on the subject-matter and debate, either through conversation in class or using the resource directly. There are lined areas within the resource for student completion of tasks.

A completed example of an effective tool for planning/monitoring/tracking the individual lessons between year groups. Particularly effective teacher who may be working between classes. Useful for looking at potential gaps within the weekly/monthly timetable where a wider variety of subject-matter can be injected.

A resource controlled by students to decide their own exam questions based on their interpretations of any text. This was used with Year 10's recently (June 2016) with some very in-depth analysis of the varied literature they are studying. It led to them understanding the text at a deeper level, simply by 'them' considering the questions that may be asked of them in a final exam.

Worksheet used with Year 7-8's in conjunction with 'Gothic Novel Create Your Own' resource, as a feed-in to them exploring The Castle of Otranto and Frankenstein. SUGGESTION: Circle three from the options and then add three 'unique' adjectives of your own. Then create a piece of horror-writing with your new words incorporated using the resource associated with this (available by the same author) or develop your own.

Examples of language features from A Christmas Carol, within a two-page resource containing a table for students to develop their own features and then incorporate one or more of these in a paragraph. Useful for students who can identify language features but who need to respond more fluidly with writing their own.

A nine-page resource, prints as five-page double-sided. Initially discusses Sir Robert Walpole's 'The Castle of Otranto', then mentions modern-day books influenced by this genre, such as the Twilight series. Provides a template of an 'ancient book' so the students (suited more to KS3) can create a cover/title and a synopsis. The pages then contain 'gargoyles' to suggest the student plans their own Gothic Story and complete this within the lined-pages provided.
