Topic 1: Energy Revision Questions and Answer Sheets
Eight sheets of straightforward revision questions. Written to provide simple recall test of what students have learned and need to learn (to reassure them as much as anything). Taken pretty much directly from the AQA 9-1 GCSE Physics syllabus - Energy. Answer sheets are included. Each would work well as a starter, plenary or on a VLE.
***Key words: *** Low Stakes Recall Tests, Energy Change, Energy Store, Systems, Kinetic energy, Elastic energy, Gravitational Potential Energy, GPE, Equation practice, Specific Heat Capacity, Energy Transfer, Power, Work Done, Watts, Joules, Units, Conservation Of Energy, Dissipation, Efficiency, Energy Resources, Environmental Issues, Renewable, Non-renewable
Resistance worksheet (Foundation)
A very basic worksheet on resistance. Made because my group struggled with worksheets that packed a lot in!
It concentrates on V = IR but checks that they remember voltage and current in a parallel circuit. It covers ‘the triangle’, units and uses the term ‘potential difference’.
Ionising Radiation, Nuclear Reactors and Litvinenko (4 GCSE worksheets).
Aimed at foundation tier GCSE students. - cloze, colouring and a bit of reasoning thrown in. The Litvinenko sheet is a bit wordier but provokes discussion. You will find numerous news clips to illustrate it. Answer sheets included.
Nuclear radiation: Self-marking excel spreadsheet/worksheet (GCSE).
This looks at alpha/beta/gamma radiation. An onscreen cloze/labelling activity written in Excel; it ticks each word as students get them correct. Students like it because it gives immediate feedback. I’ve used it with all ability groups at GCSE. If you want to work out how it’s done, the password to unprotect it is ‘eliziczac’. Save as a template to stop students overwriting the original. Works well on a VLE.
AQA 9-1 GCSE Physics Equation Cue Cards (Combined Science & Separate)
23 Cue cards which have all the equations which students need to learn for AQA 9-1 GCSE Physics (both Combined Science and Separate Science).
They’ve only got 23 to learn (I resisted the temptation to add a few extra in to fill all 27 cards).
