I have worked as an English Tutor/Learning mentor in an Inclusive High School in Rochdale for the last four years and due to redundancy I am now seeking a new challenge. I ran my own intervention and 1:1 sessions, working closely with groups of students to identify their areas of weakness and improve their reading, writing and exam skills coaching them on how to approach the English GCSE exam papers. I also supported students in their English lessons, particularly those with behavioral issues, SEN needs or those not on track to reach their target GCSE grade. I also taught as an unqualified teacher in this role, planning, marking and delivering my own lessons to my own year 7 and year 9 classes throughout the four years I spent in this role, as well as covering lessons when required. I have tutored on a private basis for the last four years and for the last 18 months I have worked in a local Islamic Centre at weekends supporting students of all ages with their literacy skills.
