Christmas Maths Angles Bearings and Scale Drawings A fun activity for Christmas! All answers are included. Your students will use the bearings and directions given to draw a map of a Christmas market. The scale is 1cm = 50 metres. All measurements are metric. There are then 3 worksheets of questions about the Christmas market involving bearings and measurements. There are 2 versions of this resource so that you can print in black and white or color. ✎ Contents: This resource includes: • A Christmas Market map for students to complete. • A directions sheet with the distances and bearings of all the Christmas market stalls. • 3 worksheets with a total of 16 questions to complete after drawing the map. • Teachers notes. • All answers and model map solution. ✦ Objectives: This resource has been designed to practice: • Bearings • North, South, East and West directions • Scale drawings • Measuring lengths accurately • Drawing and measuring angles accurately ✽ Directions: Print out a set of worksheets for each student. This resource can be printed in black and white or colour. You could laminate the directions sheet for students to share. Or display for your class on a smartboard. ✦ Notes: Students will need a ruler and protractor for this activity. These questions should take at least an hour for students to complete. All answers are included, as well as a completed map so that you can easily mark students work. Note that your students’ answers will vary slightly depending on how accurately they have drawn their maps. ✷ Suggestions: You could give the students a large sheet of coloured paper to draw their maps.
