This is a starter activity for development indicators that mirrors a GCSE question. I used this as a recap as we had practiced and discussed this type of question previously. Could be used in main body of a lesson to develop exam skills.
Activity involves 4 population pyramids that students have to analyse and match each statement to the correct pyramid. Challenge activities include analysis and the creation of their own population pyramid.

Lesson looks at the law regarding abortion, dispelling some myths about women who have abortions and Christian and Muslim views. Allows students to discuss their opinions and those of others. Includes exam practice.
Requires book information about Christian and Muslim views on abortion.
This lesson follows lessons examining the treatment of women in Christianity and Islam. Follows the teaching and learning cycle. All joint and independent writing should be peer assessed or self-assessed (which is what I do with my students).
This lesson builds on content about how William the Conqueror and the Normans changed England. My students have looked at three areas: violence and fear, castles and the feudal system. Students look at a model answer and deconstruct it, a live model is completed and then there are independent activites. There is a literacy focus of noun phrases.
