French Classroom Objects Presentation

(0)
Beginners French Language KS2 / KS3 (Year 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8) Les Objets de la Classe / Dans la Salle de Classe) PowerPoint Presentation. Over 100 slides, including interactive vocabulary games, plus a PDF file of flash cards for the 18 key classroom words that are taught in the presentation. Includes 18 key classroom words.   My FSL / MFL French basics resources and units suit students beginning French, near beginners (and intermediate learners for revision) in: Upper Primary (Key Stage 2) - Year 4, 5, 6 (Y4 Y5 Y6) Secondary (Key Stage 3) - especially Year 7 and 8 (Y7 / Y8) Equivalents such as Grades 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 Core French in Canada May suit others, depending on experience   The Powerpoint includes teaching points about gender / plurals of French nouns and the difference between using un / une / des , le / la / les and mon / ma / mes. It teaches children how to answer questions such as 'Qu’est-ce que c’est? (What it it?) and ‘Tu as une gomme / un crayon?’ (Do you have an eraser / pencil? etc). Includes words for door, window, chair, other furniture as well as pencil-case / schoolbag / stationery / school supplies items ( dans ma trousse / dans mon sac / mes affaires). Due to differences between UK and US terms for some of these words, I have included 2 versions to cater for both. Please note the previews show the UK versions. After the vocabulary has been introduced and key teaching points explained, further slides test the students’ vocabulary before the answer appears on the click of the mouse. There are tasks for students to understand and talk about what is in pencil cases and bags. Also, two interactive games are included. Un Jeu de Kim (Kim’s Game) is a memory game and works well with groups competing to be the first to write the correct French word on their whiteboard for the object that is missing. ‘Frappez les Objets’ is a ‘Splat’ game, where a small group competes to hit or point at the correct picture when the teacher says the French object. A non-interactive PDF version of the PowerPoint is also included in case you don’t have PowerPoint. In most cases where terms differ between UK English and US English, both terms have been included. You can get this presentation alongside games, flashcards, a worksheet and puzzles in this bundle: French Classroom Objects Bundle ALSO INCLUDED IN: **French KS2 / KS3 MEGA BUNDLE 1 Please visit FullShelf Resources You might also like: French KS2 / KS3 MEGA BUNDLE 2 French KS2 / KS3 MEGA BUNDLE 3

Worksheet 2 is more challenging than the others, with a very short reading comprehension and questions related to yesterday’s and tomorrow’s date. Worksheet 3 (Anagrams) is not differentiated. (1)
Beginners KS2 / KS3 (Year 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8) French speaking games (2 sets of 40-card loop games/ follow me cards / dominoes) for revision of French calendar (le calendrier) vocabulary - dates, months (les mois), days of the week (les jours), as well as numbers to 31.   My FSL / MFL French basics resources and units suit students beginning French, near beginners (and intermediate learners for revision) in: * Upper Primary (Key Stage 2) - Year 4, 5, 6 (Y4 Y5 Y6) * Secondary (Key Stage 3) - especially Year 7 and 8 (Y7 / Y8) * Equivalents such as Grades 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 Core French in Canada * May suit others, depending on experience   These resources will help you plan multiple lessons. Additional US format date versions are also now included. One set features the date and month, the other (which has different dates) also includes the day. This game works especially well as a fun activity to teach the difference between the two ways of answering the question Quelle est la date? (What is the date?), which depends on whether you are including the day: C'est samedi cinq avril C'est le cinq avril Another teaching point reinforced with this activity is the fact that days and months do not start with capital letters in French. Print and laminate the sets for repeated use. There is no start or end card in either set; they are continuous loops so you can start wherever you want. French Calendar / Date Games

Quelle est la date? Beginners French KS2 / KS3 (Year 4, 5, 6 and 7) Printable Speaking Games for revision of calendar and date vocabulary: 10 Four in a Row game boards and a Snakes and Ladders Board for practising saying the date in French. These resources will help you plan multiple lessons at Key Stage 2 or Key Stage 3 (upper Primary and early Secondary and equivalents) for students beginning French or near beginners requiring revision of basic vocab and phrases. Originally made for UK schools, I have also added US date format versions of both resources. You can get these games with other French calendar resources (a substantial PowerPoint lesson presentation, bingo game, loop games, worksheets and puzzles) in this bundle: French Calendar (Le Calendrier) Bundle FOUR IN A ROW I originally created this to help pupils answer the French question 'Quelle est la date?' but there is no reference to French on the boards so they can also be used for Italian, Spanish, German and other languages. Pupils will practise calendar vocabulary - months (les mois), days of the week (les jours de la semaine) and numbers to thirty-one. Includes: 5 boards with the month and date 5 further boards with the month, date and day A fun language learning activity - ideal for a starter, early finisher task, main lesson consolidation work or as part of a bank of revision activities. Print in either A3 or A4 and laminate for regular use. Individuals or pairs play against each other, taking it in turns to roll a dice before choosing a date in the correct column (columns are labelled 1-6) to say in the target language. If correct, they could put their symbol or initial over it in a wipeable pen or cover it with a counter of a different colour to their opponent. The first player/team to get 4 in a row vertically, horizontally or diagonally is the winner. With 10 boards in total, they can swap with other pairs/groups when finished to have another game. SNAKES AND LADDERS Pupils play as per normal Snakes and Ladders, only they have to say the date they land on in French. The US date format version of the game is on page 2 of the file. Instructions are on page 3.
