Whether you are focusing on the 12 or 24-hour clock – or both – there’s plenty to choose from here. Just select the resources you want. The 12 hour versions of each resource can be found first. In almost all cases, these are then followed by 24 hour versions (except for the maze). The “12h” or “24h” in the top right corner will help you identify them.
The worksheets and puzzles are at various levels of difficulty, all of them differentiated, to provide plenty of variety and challenge for you to select the most appropriate for the range of ages and abilities that you teach.

The resources focus on 12 phrases: il pleut, il neige, il gele, il fait beau, il fait mauvais, il fait chaud, il fait froid, il y a des nuages, il y a du brouillard, il y a de l’orage, il y a du soleil, il y a du vent.
FOUR IN A ROW: 3 game boards. Print in colour or black and white and laminate as required (use dry-wipe pens). First to get four in a row - vertically, horizontally or diagonally - wins. Students roll dice, then choose a weather phrase from that number column and say it in French.
BOARD GAME: In turn, players roll dice and move the appropriate number of spaces. If they can say aloud in French the correct weather on the space they land on, they stay there etc. CHALLENGE VERSION: Students say the weather in the location they land on. (Il y a du soleil à Paris / Il y a du brouillard au Canada etc.)
BINGO: 14 cards (the teacher could read out French weather phrases) or use for Noughts and Crosses, with students taking it in turns to say aloud a French weather phrase. You could laminate and use dry-wipe pens.
LOOP GAME: A 12-card set, which forms a continuous loop. Distribute among players. First player reads the English language side of one of their cards and then all players check if they have the French translation. If they do, they will read out both sides of their card.
VOCABULARY SUPPORT: Different formats, with and without background colour.

One set features the date and month, the other (which has different dates) also includes the day. This game works especially well as a fun activity to teach the difference between the two ways of answering the question Quelle est la date? (What is the date?), which depends on whether you are including the day:
C'est samedi cinq avril
C'est le cinq avril
Another teaching point reinforced with this activity is the fact that days and months do not start with capital letters in French.
Print and laminate the sets for repeated use. There is no start or end card in either set; they are continuous loops so you can start wherever you want.

Fun Upper Primary Maths games and activities for Key Stage 2 (KS2) Year 5 and 6 - or Primary 6 and 7 in Scotland. Factors and Multiples starters, warm ups, early finishers tasks, revision etc. A differentiated set of over 70 cards to be used for self-checking factors work or for fun games, plus 6 game boards and 36 cards for multiples bingo / lotto.
FACTORS:
Lower ability file features numbers up to 100. Higher ability file includes many more challenging numbers, up to 16,000. The cards are designed to be printed double-sided with the answers (all factors of the number) on the back. Once you have printed the front side, pop your paper or card back in the printer and print the answers.
This works especially well as an early finisher activity. Pupil Instruction Card is included for ‘Factors Frenzy’ game, where children compete to find as many factors of a number as they can. It could get quite competitive!
MULTIPLES:
6 bingo boards, each featuring 6 numbers between 2 and 12. Print and laminate these as well as the 36 number cards (which each feature four numbers). When picking up a card, players must decide if the four numbers on their card are ALL multiples of a single number on their board. If so, they can place it over that number. If not, they put it back. There’s tactical thinking in this game as some children will realise that all multiples of i.e. 12 are also multiples of 6, 4, 3, 2 - so they will need to prioritise covering the numbers for which there are fewer cards. A couple of cards will not be able to be placed on anyone’s board as there is no common multiple. As usual, the first to cover all numbers is the winner. A Pupil Instruction Card is included for this game too. It comes in both colour and black and white.

3 HIDDEN WORD / SPOT THE MISTAKES PUZZLES:
Puzzles feature sentences containing multiple words from the Year 5 and Year 6 spelling list, most spelled correctly
Students check carefully to spot errors and highlight corresponding letters in the grid at the bottom
Rearrange highlighted letters to form another word from the spelling list
To save printing, print puzzles on card and laminate. Students use whiteboard pens, allowing repeated use
Puzzles are included with a pastel background, to reduce glare for dyslexic learners and others for whom this is helpful. If not colour printing, it becomes a greyscale background, which you might like, though there are also versions without a background
Spotting errors may help students remember to check their own work and help them avoid errors themselves
Individual, pairs or small group use
For differentiation put lower ability children into pairs, perhaps with a higher ability student. You could allow a word list or dictionary for support

Originally designed for A3 printing, and I recommend this, with students writing directly on the board with a thin whiteboard pen. However, it works fine in A4 (you may need to adjust printer settings). If A4, students could write their spelling on a mini whiteboard or paper and put their initials in the space if correct

Spelling Word List Year 5/6 Games and Puzzles
A Maths starter game for KS2 Year 5 / Year 6 Division with multiples of 10, 100, 1000 Numeracy. This is a treasure hunt / scavenger hunt activity, an active printable mental maths team game, with differentiation, ideal as a whole class starter or plenary in Year 5 / Year 6 and early KS3. It can be played multiple times in a lesson or across several lessons as groups can use different card sets each time. Teams complete a treasure hunt-type chain of decimals calculations, followed by a ‘Find the Target Number’ mental maths challenge, using a mixture of the four operations. There are 54 double-sided cards, forming sets of 6 cards for 9 teams. A key feature is the chance to involve lower ability students in a fun whole class activity to give them a boost of confidence without it being obvious their calculations are less challenging (3 of the sets are at an easier level). Students collaborate on a treasure hunt type maths trail and when they’ve collected all 5 answers, they are given a target, which they must make using 3 given numbers. You can print and laminate the cards in batches of 3 sets, so if you don’t require them all, you needn’t print them. The cards should be printed double-sided (they’ve been laid out to facilitate this). I print by selecting the ‘2-Sided Short Edge (Top)’ option. However, if you can only print one-sided, print all the even-numbered pages, replace the paper, and print the odd-numbered pages on the back.
Give each team their ‘Start’ card. Spread out all other cards, answer side up. You may wish to remove cards from any set not being used, although this is not necessary. On your signal, teams turn over their Start card and complete the calculation. Each team sends one person to collect the correct answer card, on the other side of which will be their next question and a letter to confirm which team it belongs to. Ensure teams immediately replace any cards not marked with their letter. The process continues until the team have answered all five calculations. On the other side of the final answer card will be a target number, which teams must make, using the numbers printed in boxes in the bottom right corner of 3 of their cards. Use all 3 numbers and only once each, using any of the 4 operations. The first to make their target number wins! One possible answer for each of the target challenges is printed on the solution cards.

This is a Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 Key Stage 2 (KS2) - Y4 / Y5 / Y6. Maths activity for multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000: an engaging, differentiated set of 20 printable spooky gameboards for starters, early finishers activities, revision etc. It’s an aspect of maths that students often forget but after they’ve played a few games of Crazy Doors, with its attractive board and the scenario of being chased by trolls through a swampy forest, it’ll hopefully stick in their mind! Versions with no backgrounds have been included for eco-printing. Great for Halloween - or at any time of the year (as it doesn’t mention Halloween on it). In Scotland, use for Second Level Maths, Primary 5, 6 and 7.

There’s a multiplication and division by 10, 100 and 1000 version and one for lower ability or younger pupils for multiplying and dividing by just 10 and 100. 10 game boards are included for each (it’s the same layout for each board but with different numbers on the doors).
Each group of 2-6ish players requires a game board, a Doors Targets board (2 included, one for each version), an instruction card (included), dice, counters and mini whiteboards (or paper) and pens. They throw the dice to make a 2-digit starting number and the aim of the game is to change that number by multiplying/dividing by 10, 100 and 1000 to meet the requirements printed on doors in the forest. If they meet the requirements, they may go through the door. They have to throw a counter onto the Doors Target board to find out what they will be multiplying/dividing by - they’ll need to think about the best one to aim at and then also hope their throwing is accurate or they could get held up at a particular door for a while!
This fun activity should also consolidate understanding of place value, including decimals. I’ve added a place value grid for convenience in case any students require this support.

6 worksheets, all differentiated two ways using a star system. The one-star version is the least challenging, for lower ability, younger or less experienced students. Includes jumbled words, translation tasks, fill the blanks tasks and a short reading comprehension.
3 puzzles - There’s a grid puzzle, hidden word puzzle and a maze. The grid puzzle is differentiated, with the first letter given for each word in the easier version. In the hidden word puzzle, students find translation errors and use linked letters to uncover the missing word to complete a related sentence. In the maze, students make a pathway by correctly translating emotions and feelings into French.

GAMES AND ACTIVITIES:
Sentences Board Game: Students say aloud in French the translations of the sentences they land on. Includes some first person singular sentences but also second, third and plural too. Print and laminate boards for repeated use. Answer key included.
Four in a Row Game: Print and laminate the game board. Enlarge if using with a bigger group. First to get four in a row - vertically, horizontally or diagonally - wins. Students roll dice, then choose an emotion / feeling from that number column and say it in French. If correct, use a dry-wipe marker to put a symbol or initial in that box (opponents could use a different colour dry-wipe marker).
Loop Game: A speaking game for groups or the whole class. Print and laminate for repeated use. The 30 cards form a continuous loop so it doesn’t matter which one you start with.
“Comment te sens-tu?” Active Oral Game: Print and laminate the cards you want to use. 36 cards in the set. Students have one card each and must move around the room, asking in French how others are feeling, aiming to meet the person with the matching card. Students must reply in French, using the image on their card.
Mime Game: A team game, where students mime feelings to make their teammates guess correctly in French.
Square Jigsaw Puzzle: Students rearrange the puzzle pieces so that each French feelings phrases is placed next to the English translation. When completed, the letters on the outside edge of the big square will form a linked sentence.

For MFL / FSL, KS3, KS4 or even adult language learners, this giant French Adjectives vocabulary crossword puzzle, is great for cover lessons, starters or early finishers activities or as an extension challenge activity after a focus on Les Adjectifs. Use this huge puzzle to revise and extend vocabulary. There are 116 words in the puzzle, all singular adjectives and a mixture of masculine and feminine spellings. PDF format - 16 pages.
You could return to it over several sessions. This is low prep, great for collaboration, printable, differentiated, has an answer key, and there’s even an optional hidden sentence challenge! Best not used with absolute beginners, as it’s designed to review AND expand students’ existing vocabulary, to provide a challenge. Depending on experience and ability of students and level of support given, this can work with Key Stage 3 and 4 and beyond.

HOW TO DIFFERENTIATE THIS ACTIVITY:
There are 2 versions of the clue sheets – one with just the word itself in English (to be translated into French) and an easier version with the first letter given.
Choose whether to provide the alphabetical answer list, perhaps just to support certain students, or distribute it only when students have done as much as they can independently
Consider using mixed-ability groups
Decide whether to allow access to online or traditional dictionaries, perhaps later when students have completed as much as they can independently
Consider whether to use the hidden sentence challenge version (students use a blank grid with stars printed on certain squares, and then put the letters together from the star boxes to spell out a hidden word). There are 2 versions of the recording sheet for this challenge, should you wish to use them, and separate answer keys
Early finishers could be directed to online sources to check out the pronunciation of unfamiliar words
Whatever you choose, I hope your students have as much fun completing it as I did compiling it!
You might want to expand the crossword if using with larger groups but if you can’t, it will still work in standard size.
