The aim is for children to make their own alien words using a dice and the chart appropriate to the phase they are working on. There is board for Phase 2, 3 and 5 and a recording sheet. How to play: Roll the dice. Find the number you have rolled on the first box. Chose a sound and write it on your sheet under 1st. Roll it again and find the number you have rolled in the second box. Chose a sound and write it under 2nd. Roll it a last time. Find the number you have rolled in the third box. Chose a sound and write in on your sheet under 3rd. Ask your partner to read your alien word. If they can read it give them a P. If they can’t give them a X. Now its your partners turn. There are two files include: Phase 2 Phonic Flowers - Display Version This pack has a flower for each of the Phase 2 sounds. Each flower is in parts and will need cutting out. For long term use print onto card and laminate. These can be used as part of an interactive display or a table top where children can attach the petals to the correct sound. Phase 2 Phonic Flowers -Cut and Stick Version This pack has a flower for each of the Phase 2 sounds and has been designed as a cut and stick activity. Each flower is black and white or uses grey scale to enable cost effective photocopying. There is a dotted line around each part to make it easier for younger pupils or those with fine motor issues easier to cut. Older or more adapt pupils may want to cut around the thick black lines.
