A revision lesson on key quotations from Blood Brothers.
Start by giving out the revision grid with only the quotations so students can analyse the top 6 quotations for each character.
Then give out the answer sheet so students can compare their answers to the model.
There is also a larger revision grid which contains quotations for each character linked to theme in case a theme question comes up.
This lesson shares a secret 3 step formula for how to write thesis-style introductions for Lord of the Flies. In their 2022 examiner feedback, AQA mentioned thesis-style introductions as a common feature of high grade responses.
In this 24 slide PowerPoint, I provide a range of example thesis-style introductions for different characters and guide students on how to create their own.
It is aimed at helping students push for the higher grades by demystifying the idea of thesis statements into an easy to follow process.
This process can also be used for Macbeth and A Christmas Carol in Paper 1 so I have also included 2 examples for these texts and an extension task for these texts.
5 Quotation revision posters covering key quotations for 5 characters in Romeo and Juliet: Romeo, Juliet, Capulet, Tybalt, Mercutio.
Each quotation is accompanied with explanatory notes to help guide analysis.
22 key quotations briefly explained for Macbeth and Lady Macbeth on a visually engaging poster. There is an editable word version and a pdf version.
Also contains a more detailed analysis of quotations for each character.

A grade 9 response analysing Macbeth and Lady Macbeth’s relationship. This was an exam question in May 2021.
It is formatted to fit neatly onto one page for ease of photocopying.
This would achieve a mark in Band 6 because it is a critical,
exploratory, well-structured argument which takes a conceptualised approach
to the full task supported by a range of judicious references. There is some
a fine-grained and insightful analysis of language supported by judicious use of subject terminology. There is a convincing exploration of different perspectives and interpretations.
Also includes A3 quotation revision posters on Macbeth and Lady Macbeth
A revision timeline that explores Lady Macbeth’s journey through the play. Also contains a high grade model exam answer exploring how Lady Macbeth’s character changes during the play.
Also included as a cut and stick activity where students cut out the boxes and place them in the correct order.
