20 Quotations revisions cards covering 20 of the most important quotations in the novella. These are aimed at high ability students to help ensure their analysis of quotations is thorough and perceptive to meet the Band 5 or 6 stages of the mark scheme. Each card contains detailed notes linked to the three assessment objects A01, A02 and A03. The notes are colour-coded to help with this. Also methods are underlined to help students see how they meeting the requirements for A02. Simply cut out each revision card and fold them to create double sided cards with the quotation on the front and the analysis on the back. Also presented as an A3 knowledge organiser. 6 poems thematically linked to mother’s day to develop unseen poetry skills. The 3 sets of poems are linked in thematically and in terms of difficulty. For each poem students must identify the big idea/message about motherhood and then identify 3 poetic methods to comment on. Neatly adapted onto one A3 sheet for ease of printing which makes it ideal for either a carousel style lesson or a cover lesson. As a follow up lesson, students can write up their answers to the 24 mark single poem analysis and the 8 mark comparison.

20 Revision flash cards for 20 key quotations in Macbeth that encourage students to explore the impact of the quotations in a thorough and perceptive way. The cards are colour coded to link to assessment objectives A01, A02 and A03 and the methods are underlined. In each I try and ensure the analysis of the method leads directly on to a discussion of Shakespeare’s intentions and big ideas - informed by the Jacobean context. I recommend giving students the blank version first to find out what they can already say about each quotation before sharing the cards so they can identify the gaps in their knowledge.
