AQA Modern Britain Prime Minister Summary Sheets

(0)
This is a resource for students studying the AQA Making of Modern Britain A Level History course. This contains full page sheets for each Prime Minister between 1951 and 2007 with a table requiring students to summarise the main political, economic, foreign policy and societal achievements and limitations during that PM’s time in office. This should provide a useful revision aid for students to condense their notes down to key facts and statistics that would be useful precise evidence in an essay. Harold Wilson has two pages so that each of his periods in office can be summarised separately. Alec Douglas-Home is included to ensure full coverage of all PMs mentioned in the course but so little reference is made to him in the textbook that students will find they barely fill this one in.

History A Level Academic Reading Log

(0)
This is a resource designed to support A Level History students in their wider academic reading. It would be especially useful for students undertaking History coursework where they need to show evidence of having independently researched and evaluated the views of different historians. It is also a useful way for students to organise wider reading undertaken for their examined units which will help them to broaden their understanding of the key issues. The log guides them through: noting down the key details of the provenance - assisting in later formation of footnotes and bibliography evaluation of the provenance summary of the main argument and identification of evidence used to support this evaluation of the content through reference to their own knowledge extending their engagement with the text through a more personal response forming a conclusion on the overall value of the text The log forms a good homework task and a tool for teachers to check that students are engaging with suitable academic resources.

This resource is for use by students studying the AQA A Level History course but would be useful for all post-16 students of any exam board required to undertake source analysis. It was primarily written to support the Unit 2 source question but would also be useful for students logging sources to use and evaluate in their coursework. The sheet is broken into three sections: source provenance, source content and judgment. They are guided through their analysis and evaluation by a series of questions and can write their answers in the boxes.
