Happiness Assembly/Presentation A presentation aimed at Early Years and Key Stage 1 children about being a superhero and spreading happiness and smiles. Manners PowerPoint/Assembly A PowerPoint presentation focusing on manners and how we use them every single day. The presentation starts with some manners for sale and ends with the conclusion that manners cannot be sold, they are free and we can all use good manners everyday. The presentation includes examples and pictures of good manners. The presentation could be used as an assembly or as an introduction to manners for a PSHE lesson. Apologising/Saying Sorry Assembly/PowerPoint A PowerPoint presentation focusing on apologising and saying sorry. The presentation covers why we need to apologise and how it makes others and ourselves feel if we do something wrong. The presentation could be used as an assembly or as an introduction during a PSHE lesson. These presentations are suitable for Early Years and Key Stage 1 children.

Split Digraph Revision A phonics activity for practising and revising split digraphs only. Children can practise writing real and alien words on their whiteboards using focus sounds. The activity could be used during phonics lesson, as an intervention for any children requiring extra support or in the lead up to the phonics screening. Split Digraph Workbook A phonics revision activity focusing on split digraphs only. Each split digraph has three workbook pages - one to practise writing real words, one to identify alien words and one to complete a sentence using the focus sound in a word. There is a space on the sentence writing page for children to draw a picture to match their sentence. This activity workbook could be completed as part of a group, independently or could be sent home as home learning/homework. Aimed at Early Years and Year 1 children.

Planning a Story An English activity to help children to plan a story in a step by step manner. This activity breaks down story planning into small chunks and enables children to plan each stage of the story. The activity encourages lots of talk and children enjoy sharing their ideas about the story. The activity encourages children to think about and describe their character, the setting and the time of their story. Children then plan the problem, what happens first, then and next and then the solution and the ending. The activity gives children different ideas and demonstrates to children that not all stories need to be the same as we all have different ideas and suggestions. I often take several days to work through this activity and to build story plans with the children and find that rereading our story plans regularly helps children when they reach the writing stage. This activity could be used in Early Years to introduce story planning and oral retelling of a story to the children or in Key Stage 1 to support children with story planning and story writing. Writing a Story An English story writing activity to support children when writing a story. Children plan their story using a story plan. This activity then demonstrates to the children how to write each part of their story using the story plan. I use this activity over several days to support children to write their story and will often cover several parts in one lesson with mini plenaries in between reminding children what their writing needs. Children like the little girl who pops up to ask questions to improve the story. The activity could be used in Early Years for orally retelling a story or in Key Stage 1 for writing a story.

Two fun Maths activity PowerPoints to introduce children to 2D and 3D shapes. The PowerPoints include interactive activities for the children to join in with. The PowerPoints show different 2D or 3D shapes and describes their properties. Children then have to guess the shape that is being described or the shape that is being slowly revealed. There is also a shape spotting activity and an odd one out activities. My classes have enjoyed using these PowerPoints to learn about 2D and 3D shapes and they encourage lots of talk about shapes. The activities could be used as a whole class activity or in small intervention groups. Aimed at Early Years and Year 1 children however could be used as a recap or booster session for Year 2 children.

There are opportunities throughout the presentation for the children to discuss their own ideas about being amazing and the final slide encourages children to celebrate their own and other people’s amazingness. Rules A PowerPoint presentation about rules. The presentation explains what rules are and why they are important. The presentation also talks about what would happen if we didn’t have any rules. There are opportunities throughout the presentation for the children to discuss their own ideas about rules. Accepting Challenges A PowerPoint presentation about challenges. The presentation explains that every challenge comes with a reward and then gives some examples of these rewards. The presentation also talks about how we might feel when faced with a challenge and how we feel when we achieve a challenge. There are opportunities throughout the presentation for the children to discuss their own ideas about challenges. These presentations could be used as an assembly or during a PSHCE lesson. Aimed at Early Years and Key Stage 1 children.
