A Squash and a Squeeze - EYFS Literacy

A set of resources to support the teaching of Julia Donaldson’s ‘A Squash and a Squeeze’, with a focus on the characters. Can you write a sentence to describe each character? Children to read the character name and then cut and stick the correct picture to match. There is then space for the children to either copy write the character name or to be encouraged to write a descriptive word for each character. Character word mat I hope they are of use to others. Our children thoroughly enjoyed it.

A simple and clear PPT introducing the story of The Naughty Bus, using widgit symbols to introduce key vocabulary and to support group discussion. Also included are some photos to discuss where the Naughty Bus might have gone next! These can be used as sentence starters or just part of discussion. Colourful Semantics cards included to help build sentences linked to each photo. Great resource to support EAL, S&L needs whilst discussing the text. Loved by my Reception class! I hope it proves useful to others.
