In this simulation, students will have the opportunity to** role-play as Ancient Greeks**, writing postcards to friends and family back home describing the sights and experiences they are having in the city. The postcards come in** four different sets**, each with a different level of difficulty to accommodate students of different ages and abilities.
This resource includes Postcards with the images of 7 famous Ancient Greek Buildings: Parthenon, Odeon of Herodes Atticus, Erechtheion, Temple of Apollo, Temple of Zeus, Temple of Athena Nike and Temple of Concordia.
To make preparation for teachers as easy as possible, I added a Summary with main info about each of these historical buildings and made a** PPT presentation** (check out my video review) with high quality photos, including photos of 3D reconstructions of each building.
I designed 4 Postcard versions:
• Without the name of the building and with a colored/reconstructed photo or drawing
• With a name and colored/reconstructed photo or drawing
• With a name and without any photos or drawings
• Without the name of the building but with graphic icons
You can choose whichever version(s) that fit best with your class. The other version remain yours in case you ever need to use them. You can be very creative when using postcards. I can suggest some options:
Review activity about Ancient Greek Art History and Architecture
Coloring and drawing activities
Simulations – they can be travelers living in that historical time visiting Ancient Greece or simply travelers visiting nowadays Athena and other cities where the building still standing
Writing exercises – student can write simple travel stories, observations about building, fictional stories connected with a certain building (for example soldiers from certain wars writing postcards to their families), poems…
Peer to peer activities – students write postcards to each other, to imaginary characters or to certain historical figures
Postcards can be displayed later in your classroom. It would be great to hear how you have used this resource in your class, I am sure you will all have numerous ideas.

This PowerPoint presentation is ideal resource to teach your students about this important chapter of history that has remained silent for far too long.
I made it after attending international workshops on this subject in 2017 and it contains main information about the topic, describing the main killing sites with quality photos and maps.
Between 1941 and 1944, Nazi SS and German police forces, German military units, and locally recruited collaborators killed more than 2 million Jews residing in the Soviet Union (borders of 1941) in mass shooting operations.
This practice of extermination has come to be designated as the “Holocaust by bullets” or “genocide by mass shooting.”
Note: Although I’ve tried to be sensitive in the selection oh photos for the presentation, due the graphic nature of the subject material, some students
may find few photos I have included in the presentation troublesome. If you want, you can delete them or subtitute with new ones, as you prefer.

The Break up of Yugoslavia Bundle
As someone who studied Balkan history and Balkan conflicts, I’ve designed few presentations on that topic, as I found out that many teachers have struggles to cover this topic because of its complexity. That’s why I tried to summarize all relevant events, in chronological order, selecting high resolution photos, charts and maps, in order to help you and your student understand background of the wars, its impact on civilians (war crimes, refugees, ethnic cleansing) and all other important details.
Every presentation contains additional resources:
Topic summary as a word document (8-12 pages) with detail explanation of all relevant events and key figures, that can help teachers/researches build up their knowledge about these historical events, saving them days of researching.
Editable Review Activity with questions you can use to review students knowledge after a unit, as a resource for discussion, homework assignment or simply a guide for students to organize information covered in the presentation.
