These cracking Christmas themed Maths activities are perfect for Years 5 and 6 during the month of December. Included are seven fabulous Christmas maths activities;
Christmas Coordinates
Students record the coordinates of each item on the four quadrant grid. Included in both colour or black and white.
Festive Word Problems
Students solve the six division and multiplication festive problems and record their answers on the response sheet. There is also a set of cards with spaces to fill in the numbers so you can tailor the
questions to your class.
Less Than or Greater Than
Print and laminate the less than or greater than cards. Students use a dry eraser pen to mark either the greater or less than symbol in the space between the two decimal numbers. This activity is available in three different ability sets of cards; Blue Set - just hundredths, Red Set - tenths and hundredths mixed and Green Set - hundredths and thousandths mixed.
Lowest Terms
Students shade in the picture of the elf according to the key by converting the fraction in each section to its lowest terms.
Prime or Composite
Print and laminate the number cards and heading cards. Students sort the number cards into the correct category according to whether they are prime or composite.
Santa’s Journey
Students help Santa to plan his journey this Christmas by calculating the time intervals between the pairs of clocks.

-count in steps of 2, 3, and 5 from 0, and in tens from any number, forward and backward
Included are 48 task cards, three to a page, complete with answer grids. There are 12 cards for each counting step; 2s, 3s, 5s and 10s. Pupils will count on in multiples of the particular number, filling in the missing numbers. When counting in tens, pupils will count on and back in tens from any 2-digit number.
Cards 1-12 counting on across multiples of 2
Cards 13-24 counting on across multiples of 3
Cards 25-36 counting on across multiples of 5
Cards 37-48 skip counting on and back in jumps of 10
Simply print, laminate and cut up the task cards. Pupils may write their answers using a whiteboard pen directly onto laminated cards or they can record their answers on the response sheet.
This fabulous set of activity cards is perfect for developing your pupils' angle measurement skills. Simply print out, laminate and cut the cards up. All you will need is a protractor for your pupils to measure the angles in the set.
Included are two sets, each with 12 question cards - one set has angles to 10 degree intervals and one has angles to 5 degree intervals for easy differentiation. All angles included are 180 degrees or less. Also included are pupil recording sheets and answer keys.
A fun fractions game to reinforce the concept of fractions of shape. Students must find the matching fraction in numbers and the fraction represented as a shape.
In pairs or small groups students deal the cards, face down, equally between themselves. The first player places a card, face up, to begin a pile. The next player places their card, face up, on the pile. Continue until a shape and a numeral card representing the same fraction are placed on top of one another. The student who shouts ‘Snap!’ first keeps that pile. Continue until one player has won all the cards.
These cards can also be used to play other games such as memory pairs.
Included: 30 cards making 15 pairs
This set of 60 place value task cards is perfect for reinforcing the concept of place value up to 1000. Included in the set are 12 task cards on each of the following:
-Identifying the value of the underlined digit in a 3-digit number
-Writing the number in numeral form from the number name
-Writing the number from the pictorial representation
-Writing the expanded form of the number from the numeral form
-Comparing 3-digit numbers using <, > and =
Included for each of the 5 sets is a student response sheet and an answer sheet.

This is a simple and fun memory card game which reinforces the concept of decimal numbers using clear visuals.
There are 24 cards altogether of 12 matching pairs. Each pair has one card which displays the value in digits (whole number and decimal tenths) and one card which display the value visually through a clear diagram.
Print, laminate and cut out the cards. In pairs, or small group, students lay the cards face down on a table. They then take turns to turn over two cards. If they find the two matching numerical and visual cards of a particular decimal, they may keep the cards and have another go. If not, they must turn the cards back over and the next person has their turn. It is important to remember where the cards are positioned for future turns!
These cards can also be used to play decimal snap or simply as a visual prompt when teaching decimals.
