The PDF is a resource designed to teach children about hobbies in Arabic through a range of engaging activities. Here’s a breakdown of what it offers:
Matching pictures to words: This activity likely presents images representing different hobbies, and the children are asked to match each picture with the corresponding Arabic word for that hobby. This helps reinforce vocabulary and visual recognition.
Ask each other activity: This could involve a question and answer format where children take turns asking about each other’s hobbies in Arabic. It encourages interaction and speaking practice in the target language.
Hide the writing and guess: In this activity, the Arabic words for hobbies are likely hidden, and children have to guess the correct word based on visual clues or descriptions. It’s a fun way to test vocabulary retention and deduction skills.
Reading texts and identifying gender: Children might read short passages or sentences describing various hobbies and then determine whether each one is typically associated with boys or girls. This helps reinforce gendered nouns in Arabic and cultural associations with hobbies.
Matching words to sentences: Children might be given a list of words related to hobbies and a set of sentences describing different activities. They have to match each word with the correct sentence, which aids comprehension and reinforces vocabulary in context.

This game was specifically designed to aid children in recognizing feminine and masculine words in the Arabic language. Most feminine words typically end with either ـة or ة. However, there are a few exceptions, such as أم and بنت. The game was tailored for a year 2 group, consisting of 6 to 7-year-old children. After providing an explanation of the distinction between feminine and masculine words, the children engaged in playing the game. They took turns either individually or in pairs. Whenever a student made a mistake, we regrouped as a class and collectively explored the correct answer. This time was utilized to reinforce the pupils’ understanding of the rules regarding feminine and masculine words. Each student had to select a word and affix it to the appropriate board, which I had prepared with separate sections for masculine and feminine words. This activity allowed the students to become more acquainted with masculine and feminine words in Arabic, which are referred to as مؤث and مذكر. To aid the students’ memory of feminine words, I even transformed the ـة and ة symbols into earrings that could be attached to the feminine board. The children thoroughly enjoyed this creative addition to the game.
