TEACHERS' TREASURE CHESTS

Average Rating5.00
(based on 1 reviews)

I have been teaching for many years at lots of different levels. During this time, I've generally produced most of the resources myself. I'm in the process of revising and improving them and posting them at TES in the hope they may be of use to other teachers, educators, pupils and students. I hope you will pop into my shop now and again. I'll be adding stuff for the next few weeks, and what turns up may be just what you need.

KS2 WHERE THE WILD THING ARE

WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE remains one of the most popular movies for our Year 6 (KS2) pupils. The programme culminates with pupils writing their own stories: WHERE THE ? ARE. Some their stories are included in the package. These stories were written by our more able pupils, but all of our pupils have made stories worthwhile of the assignment. Have a look and see if it prompts interest amonst your pupils. The package is free. You might like to have a browse in my shop - lots of the resources are free; the rest are moderately priced. All the best for a safe and successful 2023. J-PC

In our Year 6 classes, we studied some of the Tudor and Stuart monarchs, including Mary Tudor, Elizabeth 1, and James I and VI. This resource provides some of the resources I wrote and produced for the classes. The level is suitable for 11 to 14 year olds. I’m posting it here free. I like my stuff - lol - and it’s pleasant some other pupils and students, and teachers, might enjoy it too. If you have time, please check my shop now and again. I’m currently revising and revamping lots of my resources - they are very wide, and you may find something that interests you. All the best to you and ours in 2023 and beyond. J-PC

LITERACY - THE KEY TO THE CURRICULUM

I wrote and produced THE KEY TO THE CURRICULUM quite a few years, but because it aims at being PRACTICAL most of the policies, approaches and activities are applicable and effective today. THE KEY TO THE CURRICULUM may be particularly useful to teachers who have the responsibility for promoting literacy across ecery department in their school. It is also very useful to have this handbook all teacher can dip into to find new ideas and approaches. THE KEY TO THE CURRICULUM comprises 76 pages , so you are likely to find somethings of interest. Here are a few of the topics: SETTING UP LITERACY GROUPS ACTIVITIES TO IMPROVE READING SPELLING ACROSS THE CURRICULUM WHOLE SCHOOL LITERACY POLICIES & PRACTICE 56 to 76 THE KEY TO THE CURRICULIM is FREE… Pleasae do have a look in My Shop - where are lots of free resources, and other resources that may interest you. All the best for a safe and successful 2023 and beyond. J-PC

NEWSPAPER ARTICLES - WRITE YOUR OWN - KS2

(0)
This resource shows how newspaper articles are written, and then gives pupils the opportunity to write their own. Everything needed is included in the resource. First, the class explore and analyse a newspaper article - Chris Keeps Cool - that is likely to appeal to them. They are guided through the article by questions which encourage them to explore the features of a newsapaper article. A second newspaper article describes how one twin brother has been put up for sale because his mum and dad can’t afford both boys! Again the article is analysed by a series of questions that provoke discussion. This is followed by a more formal analysis of the article. Youtube links enhance the experience. Pupils then have the chance to write their own article describing an incident in which a boy accidentally freezes his tongue to a pole in a dare. This is accompanied by a youtube video that shows the actual incident! Our kids enjoy this activity. The chances are yours will too if you invest £2 in the resource. All the best for 2023 and beyond. ANIMAL FARM - GCSE STUDY GUIDE - AS LEVEL

ANIMAL FARM remains on of the most popular novels in GCSE novels. This study guide is designed to engage students so they have a deeper understanding and appreciation of the novel, and enable them to engage effectively in questions that appear in the GCSE examination. It is also very useful if ANIMAL FARM appears at AS Level. It does this as part of wider interpretation of the themes in the novel. This guide has 53 pages, and here are the topics covered: Brief summary of the plot - The plot of Animal Farm chapter by chapter - A Ready Reference - The Characters in Animal Farm - Themes in Animal Farm - Key Concepts in note form - Spot the speaker/s and situation/s - Much more than a fairy story - Who was George Orwell? I have written these sections in ways that are accessible - and hopefully enjoyable - for GCSE students around 14 and 15. We have used it in our school for several years and it does the job. I’m pricing the Study Guide at £5. I hope it will become standard support in your school. All the best for a safe and successful 2023 and beyond. J-PC
