Through this resource students will be investigating a number of different areas in Ancient Greece. Students will complete activities based around key groups in Ancient Greece - contacts and conflicts, daily rituals, beliefs, systems of governments and significant people in Ancient Greece. Students will choose one activity from each of the four areas. Some activities have specified ways that the activity will be presented, while others are open for the students to decide. Within each area there are activities that cater for those students who need modification and those who need extension. The activities are designed for students between the ages of 10 -14.

Students read a short passage on how man evolved and moved out of Africa. There are three level's of questions, each level more difficult than the last. With each level the amount of information required increases. Students can also highlight where the answer to the information is found.

This activity is based on information from the ABC series War on Waste. This section involves watching the section on Bananas and answering set questions. It also involves students providing a solution.

Students complete a cloze exercise using persuasive devices on the subject of overpoulation

Students read information on Ancient Sumer. They then define given words and complete a cloze exercise to show understanding of the words.

Using the pictures students write a sentence to describe what Mr Bean is doing or feeling

This assignment involves students researching the way medieval women were treated and comparing it to how women are treated in todays society. The assignment looks at women's rights and responsibilities, way they are treated during war and famous women of both eras. Students finalise their findings in a visual diary or an auditory piece showcasing their findings.

Two activities to use based on the film Inside Out. Students, after watching the movie Inside Out answer given questions based on the characters, colours used and the film techniques. Students using the first paragraph as a model, rearrange a given paragraph so that it follows the formula of Topic sentence, explanation, example and concluding sentence.

Using the ABC series War on Waste students answer questions on the waste of Banana's grown in Australia. This activity is suitable for students who have additional needs in understanding concepts and writing sentences

Instructions on how to create a talking book using iMovie and a picture book

Students read 5 different articles that describe how to remove stains from woodwork. Students then analyse the articles as to the clarity of the article, the effectiveness of the article and the audience. Students then identify which article is the most effective.

Students make chalkboard slime. They then read an explanation on how the slime works, complete a fill in the gap and writing meaning activity. Students then state how they would use polymer's in their chosen work place.

Students from a higher year level create a brochure to alleviate new students anxieties. Older students add information that they deem to be necessary for first time students at Secondary school.

Students read the sentences given and then answer the questions.
