Differentiated position and direction activity sheet for lower ability children. Example has vocabulary on it for reference.

This challenge is perfect for higher ability children to work in pairs. Children need to cut out the egg and stick it somewhere on the grid, they then draw a route from the penguin to the egg and write the route using correct terminology. They then read out their directions to their partner who, on the right hand side of their sheet, will attempt to follow the directions and stick or draw the egg where they think it should go. Other pupil reads out directions. Compare routes to ensure they are both correct.

HOW THESE SHEETS WERE USED: THE SHEET THAT IS THE SIMPLEST WAS USED FOR THE LOWER ABILITY CHILDREN. IT WAS ALSO USED FOR THE HIGHER ABILITY AND THEY HAD THE EXTENSION (DOUBLES UP TO 20).

I created this resource for my high ability Year 2s who needed stretching. There are 3 worksheets, two sheets of number line questions and one answer sheet. I created this maths resource for my greater depth maths group. This board game satisfies greater depth statement 7: The pupil can find and compare fractions of amounts (e.g. 1/4 of £20 = £5 and 1/2 of £8 = £4 so 1/4 of £20 is greater than 1/2 of £8). There are two parts to this resource: the board game and the answer sheet Pupils take it in turns to roll a dice and answer the question they land on. There is a corresponding answer sheet with space for them to show their working out. Hope they enjoy it!

I created this resource as part of a carousel of homophone activities. The children in my class LOVED this; it encouraged problem solving, group work and thinking logically about homophones. I printed the cards onto coloured paper, laminated them and cut them out. Children used whiteboard pens to fill in the missing word. Great fun and is a great way to make homophones fun!!

Similar to another spelling lesson I have for sale. Cut out words (or let independent children cut them out) and children work in groups to complete activities. I finished off my lesson with a spelling bee!

How do you make spelling fun? I asked myself and came up with this! How I used it: Input 5 spelling rules Mixed ability groups of about 3-4 pupils Cut up words and put them in envelopes Children work through the words and sort them into the categories some words don’t fit the spelling rules and therefore go in the bin section of worksheet Blow sheet up to A3 I then finished off the lesson with a spelling bee competition - great assessment tool and they loved it!!
