Each challenge card is split into bronze, silver and gold (these aren’t progressive, they just offer milestones) Children take the sheets home and practice the words. When they are confident they can spell them, the parents cut the relevant slip off the bottom and send it in to say they are ready to be tested! Teachers can test all/ a random sample of the words to validate. Each level has bronze, silver and gold certs. Each time a child gets a cert, we offer 3 raffle tickets (in the bundle) and 2 house points (you can add your own rewards!). We will run a termly raffle to win £20!

There are 2-3 different levels depending on subject to allow for progression. We had these cards professionally printed at a local printers, double sided with a matt laminate to avoid any reflection of light and I would highly recommend this! If you need to keep costs lower, I would suggest buying some matt laminating pouches. The cards we use across the curriculum. Their use should be modelled and encouraged by staff. Encouarge children to challenge themselves to use a variation of stems to avoid repeating the same starters.
