The sentence stems on the cards support discussions and writing! There are 2-3 different levels depending on subject to allow for progression.
We had these cards professionally printed at a local printers, double sided with a matt laminate to avoid any reflection of light and I would highly recommend this! If you need to keep costs lower, I would suggest buying some matt laminating pouches.
The cards we use across the curriculum. Their use should be modelled and encouraged by staff. Encouarge children to challenge themselves to use a variation of stems to avoid repeating the same starters.
You are buying a link to this canva template so that you can edit to suit your curriculum.

cards are subtly numbered 1-6, each aligned to the NC expectations. Designed so teachers can ask children to focus on 1-2 sections of the guide or work through it all… dependent on the pupil/s, the time allocated to the task and the teacher focus.
Print and laminate for a handy classroom resource.
3 sets of increasing complexity. Each set is a double sided A4 card. These go along with the other talk like… cards on my TES store to support and promote oracy in the classroom.

These cards are ideal to support children as they learn through talk, allowing for high quality discussions.

As shown on my instagram account @journal_of_a_headteacher we use this template to record our weekly Picture News discussions and add them to a floor book. Simply summarise the week’s story and snip the images from the weekly powerpoint to add to the template - see example on page 2. Print and add notes/ post it notes to during your class discussion.
Text editable. Images can be snipped from the weekly powerpoints and pasted in.
Simply add your name to the blank box, laminate and use as a cover for a CPD journal. We use our CPD journals to capture key info from training sessions as mind maps so we can easily refer back.
Print to A3 and laminate. Children to use to support discussions/ thinking during lessons, as part of a recap/ starter or plenary. Large section in centre allows for drawing with dry wipe pen and the reminder prompts around the outside display the thinking maps and the way thoughts/ ideas can be recorded.
