What are the different opinions on how the World was created? (Creation & Covenant)
This lesson covers:
Why are some people happy with what it says in the Bible?
Why do some people not believe that God created the World?
Can you believe in Science and God?
We started teaching the New Catholic RE Curriculum Directory in 2022. So this lesson is based on the draft and my Department Leads interpretation of what we needed to include in each lesson.
This lesson runs over two lessons easily as I don’t like to rush it. It contains the Big Bang Theory (What is it? Who discovered it? What evidence is there to support it?), Evolution (What is it? What Charles Darwin found? What evidence is there to support it?) and the Pope Francis view on Creation and Science.
Catholic Christianity Revision (Each topic fits onto 1 A3 Page)
I produced a resource last year that attempts to squeeze all of the content for a single topic onto one page - print in A3 or the text will be too small. A lot of different sets in Year 11 found this resource useful and preferred it to the exam booklets.
1 page - Catholic Beliefs and Teachings
1 page - Practices
1 page - Sources of Wisdom and Authority
2 pages - Forms of Expression and Way of Life (Print back to back - or separately - had to produce an extra page for the symbols and images.
Why do some people think Creation is a story? (Creation & Covenant)

We started teaching the New Catholic RE Curriculum Directory in 2022. So this lesson is based on the draft and my Department Leads interpretation of what we needed to include in each lesson.
Looks at the difference between literal truths and symbolic truths, the benefits of telling a story and looks at the symbolic truths found in Genesis.
