My inspiration for this set of classroom decor products came from my whistle-stop trip to Burano, one of the islands north west of Venice. I instantly fell in love with the bright colours and how everything seemed so ‘in place’ despite the seemingly random placement of colours.
I’m going to continue designing classroom decor products inspired by my travels so keep your eyes peeled!
Enjoy!

Change up your classroom decor this term with a little slice of Venice! This alphabet wall display (now in BRIGHT and BLUSH colour schemes) is the perfect addition to your primary school classroom. Taking inspiration from the colourful houses on the island of Burano, these sets of letters will give you a taste of travel and make a beautiful display that students will love too!
This resource contains 3 sets of alphabet letters in 2 colour schemes, designed to be cut out, laminated and displayed. The first set were hand drawn by me - hope you like them! Just in case you’re after less ‘busy’ displays, I’ve also created a couple of simplified versions so you can still get your splash of colour without the extras! There are 2 letters per A4 page (each letter is approx. A5 size).
My inspiration for this classroom display came from my whistle-stop trip to Burano, one of the islands north west of Venice. I instantly fell in love with the array of colours and how they all seemed so ‘in place’ despite being seemingly random. Using my photos as the starting point, I came up with several colour schemes and sketched different housing designs to import into and edit on Illustrator.
I’m going to continue designing classroom decor products inspired by my travels so keep your eyes peeled!

Shhh! Converting mixed numbers to fractions is simpler than you thought! Take a peek inside this fractions resource…
This resource contains:
A cheatsheet poster on how to turn mixed numbers into improper fractions
A scaffolded worksheet which breaks down each step and gets students to show their working
A worksheet for practising the quick method of converting to improper fractions
Answer keys for each worksheet
Colour and grayscale versions
I’ve found that a lot of students I’ve taught started Fractions units feeling quite daunted and low in confidence. At first, fractions can seem a bit tricky to grasp but I think the best thing is that once students ‘click’ and realise that there are methods they can use to answer types of questions, the whole topic is suddenly demystified.
I made this cheat sheet as a reference sheet to show how mixed numbers and improper fractions relate and then show the step-by-step process for converting to improper fractions. I’ve included a few definitions and key mathematical knowledge that students will need to complete the included practice activities.
If you’re after some more practice worksheets on converting mixed numbers to improper fractions, here are a couple more.

Launch into learning about climate change with this set of picture prompts! This resource comes with 10 thought-provoking pictures as well as a recording worksheet for students.
If you’re looking for an engaging way to introduce a new topic to your students, ‘See Think Feel Wonder’ is the way to go! Use this activity to spark discussion and explore students’ prior knowledge and perceptions. The aim is to encourage students to dig deeper than just surface-level observations and GET CURIOUS about the world around them.
My favourite way to use this in class is as a Bus Stop or Carousel activity. For this, you’ll want to print off the photos (A4 or A3-sized) and spread them out around the classroom. Split students into small groups and get them to move between each of the stations, discussing and recording their thoughts.
Post-it-notes are a great way for students to record their ideas anonymously and can later be collated to guide a whole class discussion. If you’d like students to record their responses for their workbooks, I’ve included a template for you to use at the end of this resource. I’ve also included some headings which you can print off to create a wall display alongside the picture prompts and student responses.
