This 8 lesson Literacy unit (15 files) supports children in writing a high-quality voice over for the animated video ‘The Piano’. It is designed for a mixed Year 5/6 class however it can be easily edited for a younger or even older class. It is differentiated four ways and there are PowerPoint slides and sheets for every lesson.

It's Christmas week, you have ten last minute play rehearsals scheduled, a church visit and the class are so excited about Christmas that you're thinking your job is closer to that of a cat herder than a teacher right now. These lessons were used to reinforce the use of relative clauses by getting them to write a relative clause poem. The class produced many outstanding poems using this method and remarkably got really excited about our Christmas-based Literacy lessons with a hidden SPaG focus!
