PRIMARY FRENCH VOCABULARY CARDS KS2 FRENCH VOCABULARY CARDS KS3 FRENCH VOCABULARY CARDS 495 BEGINNER FRENCH WORDS AND PHRASES WITH MATCHING ENGLISH CARDS AND VOCABULARY WORKBOOK 990 VOCABULARY CARDS WITH WRITTEN RECALL WORKBOOKS FIVE SETS @ £3.00 EACH IN THE BUNDLE Files are non-editable files in a zipped format. Please read the Terms of Use - the resource is copyright, all rights reserved. It may not be copied, rewritten, shared or distributed outside your own classroom in any way. The license for purchase is a single-user license only. The vocabulary groups are as follows: salutations : jours de la semaine : mois et saisons de l’année : nombres 0-100 : ma famille : animaux : matières scolaires : fruits et légumes : couleurs : parties du corps : temps : pays : Quelle heure est-il? (o’clock/half past) : adjectifs : nourriture et boissons : verbes français : en ville : mots fréquents : français pour la salle de classe : Bavardons ensemble : conversation : questions et réponses The Reference, Recall & Write workbooks have 18 pages, with an alphabetical French-English reference list of all 99 words & phrases. The Recall and Write challenges help students familiarise themselves with, and really embed, the range of vocabulary in the set, and also get used to reading, writing and spelling in French. My students use their recall workbooks quite a few times, simply covering previous answers. This means that prep and paper are kept to a minimum. There are three written recall challenges in each workbook: = Written Recall Challenge One students write the English word or phrase from a French prompt, with all the words and phrases grouped together in the same category = Written Recall Challenge Two with this challenge, students write the words or phrases in French from an English prompt, and again, they’re all group together in the same category = Written Recall Challenge Three the final challenge ‘switches’ at each question from French to English, and lists words and phrases randomly from each category. This challenges the memory more than when the vocabulary is in the order learners first learn it in, with the additional challenge of moving between the two languages = Ideas, Notes and Next Steps encourages students to reflect on their progress = Card template for creative and practical application of language Laminate the game cards if you can - they are far more learner-friendly, and the additional prep and expense is definitely worth it, as the cards will last in excellent conditional for years. It may not be copied, rewritten, amended, shared or distributed in any way outside your own classroom. Please read the Terms of Use. The list s free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. I encourage my beginner German students to build up a comprehensive vocabulary bank that they can reference easily whenever they need it. I also use this kind of vocabulary list for quick vocabulary quizzes, spelling competitions and so on. I’ve put the numbers across two pages, because the size of the font is really important for all learners, but especially for beginner language learners, as they begin to familiarize themselves with***words and spelling systems*** in a new language. I have also uploaded a number reference sheet I give my more experienced German learners - it’s in landscape format, with all the numbers on a single sheet, so the font size is smaller - students who’ve been learning German for a while are comfortable with quite a lot of text on a single page. Have a look at it here: GERMAN NUMBERS 0-100 LIST FREEBIE #2 https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/german-numbers-0-100-list-freebie-2-12423554 There are two backgrounds to choose from - German flag, which I generally use for German vocabulary display, or plain. SPANISH NUMBERS 0-31 I HAVE WHO HAS FREEBIE

(3)
PRIMARY SPANISH KS3 SPANISH NUMBERS 0-31 Tengo ¿Quién tiene? This is a whole-group lively & communicative language learning game, perfect for practising, reinforcing & refreshing how to count from 0 - 31 in Spanish. The game has a multi-skill focus: listening, speaking & reading, with an important bonus focus on social interaction and participation. It’s perfect for pronunciation practice too. The aim of the game is to create a Spanish number chain as quickly as possible, starting with the first card cero, and ending with the final card, treinta y uno. The game works just as well if the number sequence is placed on the floor, a longish table, or other flat surface. I created the game for my young beginner learners, but I’ve also played the game with my adult learners, who really enjoy it too - the monster theme is popular with everyone! The design is four cards per page, which allows for a large font - this is really important for beginner language learners who are starting to familiarize themselves with the written word. Try to print in color if you can - it adds to the visual appeal of the game, which is a real motivator for learning. Download, print out, laminate, cut out & shuffle the cards. I’d definitely recommend you laminate the cards, despite the extra prep and expense. They’re far more learner-friendly, and they will last for absolutely years. Distribute the cards, one or two per student, depending on how many students you have in your group. I often play too - students really do enjoy it when I join in, and they seem to work that little bit harder on their concentration, reading out loud and pronunciation. Students walk around the room, talking to each other in their best Spanish accent, sharing the information on their cards, until they have arranged the numbers in the correct order. The game works best played against a timer, regularly over a longer-term series of lessons - can students beat beat their own time record? I always do some high-speed counting warm-up activities, forwards & backwards, to get everyone ready to play! LATIN NUMBERS & ROMAN NUMERALS 1-20 WORD WALL FREEBIE

(3)
PRIMARY LATIN KS3 LATIN NUMBERS ROMAN NUMERALS DISPLAY WORD WALL These word wall cards are great for creating an instant introduction to Latin numbers and Roman Numerals 1-20. I really like to have key vocabulary displayed in a particular area - I find it gives the learning environment a real language ‘feel’ and ‘look’, keeping the language alive every day - and of course the word wall cards are useful during the introduction phase, and we also use them for developing language skills and awareness in general. We like to do number guessing and calculation games at regular intervals too. My younger learners enjoy taking their mini-whiteboards or notepads, and doing Latin vocabulary or calculation race games at the word wall. There are two cards per 8.5 x 11 (A4) page in landscape format - the words are definitely big enough for children to be able to read from various location in the classroom. There are two backgrounds to choose from - color or black wave. I definitely recommend that you print on card stock and/or laminate - the word wall will hang really nicely, and will also last for years. The product is copyright, all rights reserved. It may not be copied, rewritten, amended, shared or distributed, in whole or in part, outside your own classroom, in any way. The license for purchase is a single-user license only. Please read the Terms of Use. Ideal for cross-curricular learning French and geography featuring 41 countries / territories where French is an official language as well as regions and territories where a significant number of the population speak French as either their first or second language, such as Vietnam. Each word wall card shows the country and capital city in French, and its national flag. There may be a number of countries and capital cities that students do not know, or are not aware of, so the word wall definitely helps them fully develop their general awareness, knowledge and understanding of the French-speaking world. This means we can really make the most of the learning potential of classroom decor. I’ve used the definite article, as I’ve found that this helps embed the concept of gender in French, and that proper nouns, such as countries, are subject to gender agreement rules too. I use the word wall to get students talking in French class too during Talk Time for example - quick questions such as Vrai ou faux ? Québec est la capitale du Canada ? or Libreville est la capitale de quel pays ? are really useful to encouraging students to speak in French. There are two cards per 8.5 x 11 (A4) page in landscape format, with two design formats to choose from - French flag or plain. Laminate the cards if you can, as they display really nicely, and remain in excellent condition for years. It may not be copied, rewritten, amended, shared or distributed in any way outside your own classroom. The license for purchase is a single-user license only. Please read the Terms of Use carefully. These French Christmas Numbers 0-31 challenge cards are perfect for French Christmas lessons, and really do help to create a lively language learning environment. I’ve found that lessons around the Christmas period are a great time for revisiting and practising language and structures we’ve looked at over the semester. The questions are entirely in***French***, and students can develop, embed, reinforce and refresh their developing knowledge of French in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. They have a bonus multi-skill focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading and spelling. They’re great for helping students familiarize themselves with, and develop competence in, speaking, reading, writing and spelling in French in general, and certainly in French numbers and French Christmas vocabulary in particular. The questions range in complexity and challenge, not only in terms of calculation, but also in terms of the level of French - they are definitely aimed at advanced beginner French learners, rather than new or recent beginners. Most learners will be able to infer meaning from context / images, which have a real French Christmas theme, such as la bûche de Noël and Père Fouettard, with vocabulary and structures repeated throughout, giving learners a chance to familiarize themselves really well with them. Nonetheless, it can be useful to read through the questions with the whole class first to check everyone is able to access the language, and therefore the activity, successfully. Students really do benefit in terms of language learning if they have several opportunities to work with the cards, rather than simply working with them in a single lesson. The resource comprises the following: = 36 differentiated question cards = answer key & answer recording sheet = question cards template Have a browse in my store for more French resources, including special offer bundles and freebies. It may not be copied, rewritten, amended, shared or distributed in any way outside your own classroom. The license for purchase is a single-user license only. Please read the Terms of Use carefully. Iideal multi-skill language learning activity for developing listening, speaking, reading, writing and spelling skills for German language learners of all ages - in my experience, adult learners really enjoy a few competitive games of bingo too! I’ve described the games as not grade-specific, as the general goal for me is not to learn a lot of German Christmas vocabulary as such, but to work quite specifically on German language skills development. There are 100 grids in total, in both colour & BW. The color grids definitely look really good, but can prove expensive to prep - I have sets that I’ve laminated, and students use wipe-free pens, so that the grids can be used many times. Younger learners do tend to prefer the BW grids, taking some additional time to colour them in themselves. I often combine that activity with revision of colours, which can work really well too. The games are designed for players to cross off all the words or pictures on their grids in order to win the game. This set comprises the following: 40 picture-only bingo 12-square grids, 4 per page (10 pages) You can give students a random selection of pages, with students selecting the order of grids they play from. You can also cut out the grids, and place them in a small bowl or similar object on tables. Students then select grids randomly from the bowl. For additional challenge, students can play all four grids in a single game. Colour and BW 40 words & pictures bingo 12-square grids, 4 per page (10 pages) Colour & BW 10 picture-only 30-square grids (A4 portrait format) Distribute the grids among students, several grids per student, which they choose randomly for every game. There should be several winners per game, depending on the size of the group. Colour & B&W 10 words & pictures 30-square grids (A4 portrait format) Colour & B&W Calling card, featuring 32 German Christmas words. Print or photocopy double-sided to minimise prep. There are 8 check columns per page, so that you can really get the most from each card - call the words randomly, ticking them off as you go, so that you can check the winning grids. You can vary the use of the definite and indefinite article, singular or plural. Students should also be the bingo caller, rather than always the teacher. Calling card, featuring the English translation of the German Christmas words. This is great for additional challenge - students hear the English word, and translate it quickly, looking for it in writing in German in the grid FROHE WEIHNACHTEN UND EINEN GUTEN RUTSCH INS NEUE JAHR!

Most of the questions are in German, so it’s really important to give learners appropriate support, and they’re great for stimulating discussion about German Christmas traditions and vocabulary. HAPPY CHRISTMAS MULTILINGUAL BUNTING

CHRISTMAS IS COMING! Create a fabulous and festive multilingual Christmas feel in your learning environment with HAPPY CHRISTMAS BUNTING IN 30 LANGUAGES! I’ve used the Latin alphabet throughout. Print the bunting on card stock if possible, as it will hang really nicely, and last a lot longer! Paper is fine too as an alternative. The bunting hangs best using mini-pegs on string, but also looks good pinned directly to walls as a horizontal poster display. I like to cut out the triangle shape, particularly if I’m hanging the bunting on string across a particular space, but you can also print out and hang as an A4 poster if you prefer, as that’s a little less prep-intensive! B&W works well, but colour is best if possible! The languages featured are: Albanian Bulgarian Catalan Croatian Czech Danish English Esperanto Estonian Finnish French German Greek Icelandic Irish Gaelic Lithuanian Norwegian Polish Portuguese Romanian Russian Scottish Gaelic Serbian Spanish Swedish Welsh The resource consists of a single, non-editable file, and is copyright - it may not be copied or shared in any way. This set features 12 fruits in masculine, feminine, singular and plural forms. The games are ideal for developing listening, speaking, reading, writing and spelling skills in French, as well as learning key beginner French vocabulary. There are 180 bingo grids and 40 calling cards. All the grids are designed for all the squares to be crossed off in order to win the game, and depending on the size of your class, there can be several winners per game. The grids with pictures are in both color and BW: color looks great, and I laminate these for class, using them with wipe-clean pens so that they can be recycled for years. The BW versions work really well for quick games - print and go! There are 12 vegetables featured - I’ve found this to be a reasonable and manageable number for young learners. The vegetables are: mushrooms : cauliflower : carrots : lettuce : cucumber : tomato : cabbage : potatoes : garlic : broccoli : peas : onions This set includes the following non-editable files: = 40 picture-only 9-square grids, 4 per page (10 pages). I give students a random selection of pages, with students selecting the order of grids they play from. You can also cut out the grids, and place them in a small bowl or similar object on tables. Students select grids randomly from the bowl. = 40 French word-only 9-square grids, 4 per page (10 pages) - perfect for improving listening skills and great for quick translation when using the English, rather than French, calling cards. = 40 English word-only 9-square grids, 4 per page (10 pages) - I use these with the French calling cards, it’s great practice in both listening and vocabulary recall. = 40 mixed French words, English words and pictures 9-square grids, 4 per page (10 pages) - these are ideal for multi-skill language learning, with students using all their French knowledge at once. I use the French calling cards for these grids. = 20 mixed picture and French word 9-square grids, 4 per page (5 pages) = 20 calling cards in French, 4 per page (5 pages) = 20 calling cards in English, 4 per page, (5 pages) Have a browse in my store for more French resources, including special offer bundles and freebies.
