Home Learning, project-based activities, perfect for distance learning or homework.
This is a ‘design your own country’-themed, distance learning project that will be used whilst the children are off school. This resource spreads across 4 tasks (these could be set weekly or daily) which last for an hour each. The activities see children coming across a new, previously-undiscovered country- they’ll need to: - Write a fact file about biome, climate, fauna and flora found in the country
Create a new currency for the inhabitants
Develop a new written language and decipher messages in code
Write the laws for their citizens to follow!
This download includes:
PDF version of the 4-task home learning project
Word Document version of the home learning project for editing
2 fonts for editing .docx Word documents
England: This task would work great for KS2 (Key Stage 2) and it fits in with the Year 3 national curriculum expectation
My Distance Learning Projects
Perfect for whilst we’re away from school or for homework, these independent projects can help to develop your children’s writing and creativity in a variety of areas.

Differentiated worksheets for children to present artist research, opinion & analysis along with a page for attempting to recreate and replicate the artist’s style.
Sometimes, the way children present their research findings in art isn’t up to scratch with their practical work. This resource gives children the opportunity to show their findings neatly (with sentence starters, word banks and prompts to help guide their writing) and give opinions on the artists’ work.
This resource is re-usable as it’s not artist-specific and gender-neutral pronouns are used. The second version of the artist research page is scaffolded for lower-ability writers.
Included in this download:
3-page PDF for demonstrating knowledge on artists
Word .docx versions of the pages so you can tailor the sheets to your students’ needs
Lost in Chalk font for editing your resources in keeping with the current style
Hand drawn page borders that can be used on other classroom materials (not for commercial use)
Hand-drawn paint tube clip art that can be used on other classroom materials (not for commercial use)
I hope this resource saves you time and stress!

A planning sheet for designing a fruit. Chn must come up with a target market, key positive facts, cost and name for the fruit. This then led my class into making them in a DT lesson, and creating the packaging in a 3D nets Maths lesson.
