**Shaping Techniques: Die Casting and Sand Casting: Whole Lesson
This full lesson includes accurate information for your students to understand Die Casting and Sand Casting. Great to introduce students too - but also for revision.
What the PPT includes:
• The starter introduces them to an exam style question based on Die Casting - students will be given a hand out explaining the command words which will appear in their exam. They will them highlight the command words and key information in the mock question itself. (this will come in handy later on in the lesson)

The first task asks students to answer an exam style question relating to Die Casting - They will be given time to answer the question. Students to answer a practice question - PPT includes model answer and encourages students to self reflect and improve their answer.
**Power and Machine tools - PPT and Comprehensive Task
Here you have a PPT displaying the key power tools and machine tools (which are featured in the CGP revision guide) all of the information which the students need to know for the exam are included, as the information has been used from the revision guide. The information is clear and includes images.
You will also receive a comprehensive sheet, which has been differentiated (low and high ability)
It has been advised for the teacher to print most of the ppt slides as flashcard (using the print 6 per page setting) and for the students to complete the comprehensive sheet. The teacher will then dedicate time to run through the questions and answers and the students to self mark.
There is a plenary at the end to encourage students to move around the room and answering/asking as many questions to a peer in 30 seconds.

Firstly, identify your target audience - will it be for women, men or children?

Task 1: Warm & Cold Colours
Replicate the colour tones (shown in the wheel) onto your own colour chart. Try and colour match the colours as accurately as you can.
Task 2: Painting practice
Apply water colours to the two tree rings.
Use warm tones on Tree Ring A and cold colours on Tree Ring B. Use your colour chart to help you select your colours for each. Create a gradient of colour so the colours blend from one to the other as seamlessly as possible.

This resource has been designed to help GCSE Food students to answer a long answer question, in preparation for their written exam. It is a total of x10 sides of A4. This resource is a great learning aid throughout the revision period and is suitable for all exam boards studying food.
**What are the students be tasked with - **
Students are introduced to the question- tasking them to analyse and modify a recipe and bake. It highlights the key words students need to consider when answering their own question.
Students will then write their own answer to the question.
Using the marking criteria and mark scheme students will self mark their own answer.
Students have been provided with 2 model answers. The first, a low ability answer (awarded 4 marks) and the second, a higher ability answer (11 marks) - they will then read the answers and mark using the marking criteria and mark scheme. They will then provide a mark for each and a comment.
Students are then presented with the model answers, this time showing them fully marked and comments to show improvements. (this time marked by a teacher)
Students find this resource really beneficial, as they can read a model answer of high quality and one with lower marks. They can see where they can pick up marks throughout an answer and the importance of including maximum subject knowledge and the correct use of grammar and spelling.
