This is a fantastic interactive resource that promotes exploration in a really engaging way. Simply make your own weird and wonderful potion ingredients by filling some clear containers of different sizes with coloured water (you can use a little food colouring or paint to do this). You can make the potion ingredients look really authentic with the fun potion labels included in this resource pack. Children can then explore capacity through creating potions using a recipe card or even make and write their own.

A fantastic, tried and tested lesson. Using the intro PowerPoint explore what the life of a servant in a castle would have been like; you could even get children to role play so that they can get into character. Children can then have a go at writing a diary entry from the life of a servant using the beautiful differentiated scroll worksheets and the diary writing frame to help them. If you have any early finishers, why not ask them to draw a banquet table and use the food activity sheet to either draw their own food items on the table, or cut and stick from the sheet.
