I trained as a teacher of secondary Mathematics and evolved into a Computing teacher as well. I offer mainly Mathematics resources written for the current Australian Curriculum (NSW). Luckily Mathematics is recognisable all over the world, so I hope that teachers in different countries can use some of my work.

A double sided worksheet with answers. Students are helped to identify perpendicular lines and use this information to identify different triangles and quadrilaterals. They need to think deeply about certain properties. Students need to use a ruler and protractor or set square to construct perpendicular lines in given triangles and parallelograms. These perpendicular heights then need to be measured to the nearest mm.
This worksheet is a preliminary to finding the area of a triangle or parallelogram.
(Australian Curriculum) NSW MA4-13MG uses formulas to calculate the areas of quadrilaterals and circles, and converts between units of area
This activity can be used as an individual or class investigation of the properties of the tangram.
There are many different types of questions that can be answered. Mathematical thinking, rational numbers, perimeter and area and 2-dimensional shapes are covered.
The teacher could restrict the questions where necessary to cater for individual differences.
A rubric is included for assessment purposes if required.
Many curriculum outcomes are addressed:
Australian Curriculum (NSW) MA3-1WM, MA3-2WM, MA3-3WM, MA3-7NA , MA3-9MG, MA3-10MG, MA3-15MG

A set of 3 single sided activity sheets with solutions.
Students need to carefully use a pencil and ruler to construct straight lines on the grid provided.
Colour is then used to show the different two-dimensional shapes that have been formed.
Students are asked to identify the shapes.
Australian Curriculum (NSW) MA3-15MG manipulates, classifies and draws two-dimensional shapes, including equilateral, isosceles and scalene triangles, and describes their properties.
If you like my work, please write a review to help others, and check out my shop for more useful activities.
A series of 3 worksheet with solutions.
Students are asked to work out the area and perimeter of various rectangles, emphasising the difference between these two concepts. The worksheets increase in difficulty.
(Australian Curriculum) NSW MA3-9MG selects and uses the appropriate unit and device to measure lengths and distances, calculates perimeters, and converts between units of length
MA3-10MG selects and uses the appropriate unit to calculate areas, including areas of squares, rectangles and triangles
A double sided worksheet with solutions. Students need to gather data on pet ownership from the class. This data is then organised into a table. The students then use the data to answer questions and are able to distinguish between the categorical and numerical data gathered. Dot and column graphs are used to show data.
Worksheet could be used as a lesson to show students the difference between these two types of data.
(Australian Curriculum) NSW MA3-18SP uses appropriate methods to collect data and constructs, interprets and evaluates data displays, including dot plots, line graphs and two-way tables
An activity with solutions where students need to construct quadrilaterals given their diagonals, identify them, then complete their diagonal properties.
(Australian Curriculum) NSW MA4-17MG classifies, describes and uses the properties of triangles and quadrilaterals, and determines congruent triangles to find unknown side lengths and angles
Two doubled sided worksheets with solutions. Students work out the answers to the questions by applying their knowledge of the main four compass directions.
Suitable for a lesson or as an introduction to compass directions.
(Australian Curriculum) NSW MA3-17MG locates and describes positions on maps using grid-reference system
This is a set of 2 activities helping students understand how to explore the relationship between right-angled triangles and rectangles, leading to finding the area of a right-angled triangle.
The first activity has 2 pages that need to be printed on separate pages because students will need to cut out and assemble rectangles.
The second activity needs a page of cm graph paper.
Full solutions are also provided.
(Australian Curriculum) NSW MA3-10MG selects and uses the appropriate unit to calculate area, including areas of squares, rectangles and triangles
A 3 page activity with worked solutions. Students need to construct different Fibonacci number patterns by varying the starting numbers. They need to identify even numbers and look for any patterns. They need to graph their answers and note the shapes formed. They need to find the area of a number of squares that can be arranged into a large rectangle and find its area.
(Australian Curriculum) NSW MA3-8NA analyses and creates geometric and number patterns, constructs and completes number sentences, and locates points on the Cartesian plane
An activity with solutions catering for a wide range of ability.
The first activity is where students need to be able to follow instructions to construct and cut out, manipulate the shapes to form a rectangle, and calculate area and perimeter of rectangles. There is also a challenge for more able students.
The second activity is for younger or less able students, where the teacher prepares the shapes beforehand and then can ask the students to form a rectangle, or give the students the shape of the rectangle for them to fill in with the shapes (like a jigsaw).
(Australian Curriculum) NSW MA3-2WM selects and applies appropriate problem solving strategies, including the use of digital technologies, in undertaking investigations
A series of 11 worksheets for each of the times tables 2 to 12.
Students need to write the times table using a calculator. They then can fold the edge of the paper over and try to answer by themselves. Trickier questions are included as well as using division facts for the same times table.
Students could complete these worksheets in class or as a homework activity.
A series of 3 worksheets ( the first one being double sided) where students need to use their geometrical reasoning skills to work out the answers.
The students are supported by having the geometrical facts also provided on the first worksheet.
Worked solutions are also provided.
(Australian Curriculum) NSW MA4-3WM recognises and explains mathematical relationships using reasoning
Two double sided worksheets with solutions. Students work with place value, interpreting numbers written in words and in figures. Some ordering and other number properties are covered.
Suitable as homework or revision of basic concepts.
Australian Curriculum (NSW) MA3-4NA orders, reads and represents integers of any size and describes properties of whole numbers
Activity showing two different methods for enlargement. There is a one page worksheet using the grid method with solutions. There is also a three page worksheet with solutions using the ray method. The enlargement factor is also calculated.
These different methods could be taught individually or together.
An interesting challenge is to use the ray method to enlarge a small drawing, e.g. a favourite cartoon character. These make a great poster and can be used to decorate your class room.
(Australian Curriculum) NSW MA3-15MG manipulates, classifies and draws two-dimensional shapes, including equilateral, isosceles and scalene triangles, and describes their properties
