I trained as a teacher of secondary Mathematics and evolved into a Computing teacher as well. I offer mainly Mathematics resources written for the current Australian Curriculum (NSW). Luckily Mathematics is recognisable all over the world, so I hope that teachers in different countries can use some of my work.

Area of right-angled triangles

(0)
This is a set of 2 activities helping students understand how to explore the relationship between right-angled triangles and rectangles, leading to finding the area of a right-angled triangle. The first activity has 2 pages that need to be printed on separate pages because students will need to cut out and assemble rectangles. The second activity needs a page of cm graph paper. Full solutions are also provided. (Australian Curriculum) NSW MA3-10MG selects and uses the appropriate unit to calculate area, including areas of squares, rectangles and triangles

Coordinate Geometry 4
Maths2MeasureMaths2Measure

Coordinate Geometry 4

(0)
A double sided worksheet with answers. This is a good revision activity and can be used in class or given as homework. The students have to plot points in the first quadrant of the Cartesian Plane. They need to name 2D shapes formed when the points are joined and use Pythagoras to find the lengths of oblique lines. Lastly the students need to determine the perimeter and area of the shapes formed. (Australian Curriculum) NSW MA4-16MG applies Pythagoras’ theorem to calculate side lengths in right-angled triangles, and solves related problems
Financial Maths Word Search
Maths2MeasureMaths2Measure

Financial Maths Word Search

(1)
A literacy activity with answers, for students to familiarise themselves with the vocabulary associated with the topic of Financial Mathematics. Can be used at the end of a lesson as a review.
Financial Maths jigsaw
Maths2MeasureMaths2Measure

Financial Maths jigsaw

(2)
Financial Maths jigsaw and answer sheet. Can be used as a review at the end of the lesson or as a homework activity. An alternative task can be prepared by copying the answer sheet onto different coloured sheets of paper (enough for half your class) and laminating them. Cut out all the squares from each sheet and place into a small resealable plastic bag. You would then have a class activity for pairs of students that could be reused many times. (Australian Curriculum) NSW MA4-6NA solves financial problems involving purchasing goods
Number properties
Maths2MeasureMaths2Measure

Number properties

(0)
A double sided worksheet with answers that enables students to think deeply about the properties of types of numbers. Useful for Gifted and Talented students. This worksheet could be worked on by pairs of students to allow them to talk about the properties and explain to each other. (Australian Curriculum) NSW MA4-3WM recognises and explains mathematical relationships using reasoning
Algebra properties

Algebra properties

(0)
A double sided worksheet with answers that enables students to think deeply about the properties of algebra. Useful for Gifted and Talented students. This worksheet could be worked on by pairs of students to allow them to talk about the properties and explain to each other. (Australian Curriculum) NSW MA4-3WM recognises and explains mathematical relationships using reasoning
Algebra word search
Maths2MeasureMaths2Measure

Algebra word search

(3)
A literacy activity with answers for students to familiarise themselves with the vocabulary associated with the topic of Algebra. Can be used at the end of a lesson as a review.
Algebra jigsaw
Maths2MeasureMaths2Measure

Algebra jigsaw

(1)
Algebra jigsaw and answer sheet. Can be used as a review at the end of a lesson. A literacy task where students need to be able to interpret the mathematical symbols to match with the written descriptions. An alternative task can be prepared by copying the answer sheet onto different coloured sheets of paper (enough for half your class) and laminating them. Cut out all the squares from each sheet and place into a small resealable plastic bag. You would then have a class activity for pairs of students that could be reused many times. (Australian Curriculum) NSW MA4-8NA generalises number properties to operate with algebraic expressions
Missing operations
Maths2MeasureMaths2Measure

Missing operations

(4)
A Maths worksheet with answers. Students need to choose from the four basic operations to complete the number sentences. Order of operations must be considered. Students could guess and check with their calculator. More able students would be able to refine their guesses. (Australian Curriculum) NSW MA3-2WM selects and applies appropriate problem-solving strategies, including the use of digital technologies, in undertaking investigations
