I regularly upload resources that I have created during 30 years as a teacher. Most of these are maths, but there are some ICT/Computing and Tutor Time activities. All of the resources are my own and are not available from third-parties. The resources have been tweaked over time and I have had many happy lessons and shed-loads of happy and successful students.
At the end of 2017 the TES announced that I was the most downloaded new author and in 2018 another 2 million were added to the count.

This carefully selected compilation of exam questions has fully-worked solutions designed for students to go through at home, saving valuable time in class.
Click–> tes.com/…/Exam Question Practice… to download question compilations for more than 50 other topics.<hr>The questions in this particular compilation require students to work out surface areas and volumes of spheres, cones and cylinders. There are also more complex complex calculations in which students are given the surface area or volume, and they have to work backwards to work out the radius or a height.
Note that the questions in this compilation all involve a single sphere, cone or cylinder – Download ‘Book 2’ for questions that involve combining or comparing spheres, cones and/or cylinders.
<hr>I usually print these questions as an A5 booklet and issue them in class or give them out as a homework. I also make them available for a student who wants to do focused independent study on a specific topic.<hr>If you like this resource, then please rate it and/or leave a comment.

Last questions are particularly challenging.
SATs preparation for 2018. These topic-focused SATs questions have fully-worked solutions suitable for whiteboard display or sending home to parents.
Click 👉 tes.com/…/sats-revision… for similar-style question compilations on the other SATs topics.<hr>This particular compilation is from the NUMBER/ALGEBRA strands and contains questions in which students are given the final answer and have to work backwards to obtain the starting number.<hr>I have designed this compilation to be printed as an A4 or A5 booklet which is in the style of the actual SATs papers and is convenient for use in class or as homework. It can even be given to individual students if a parent is asking for ‘some more work’!
KEY POINTS:
I have provided full answers, with comments and working where helpful.
I have maintained the style of the actual SATs questions so that students can become comfortable with the way that SATs questions are presented.
Most of the questions are from actual SATs papers, but I have also added questions so that this resource matches the requirements the current curriculum better than the older resources that are still in common use (note that many of the older resources of this type contain questions on topics which are no longer examined).
I have spent a lot of time arranging the questions so that there is a general increase in difficulty as students work through them, and so that they fit on the pages better – this means less wasted space and significant paper-saving when printing 😃

Two worksheets, which can be used to teach students about representing inequalities on number lines. The worksheets are at slightly different difficulty levels (First Steps and Strengthen). I recommend that these sheets are immediately followed by my sheets on 'Sandwiched Inequalities'.

Solutions are included.
These display letters can be cut out and used as a colourful choice for titles on display boards or even for bunting. Each letter shows both its rotational symmetry and its line symmetry. The letters are colour-coded so that those of the same symmetry have the same colour and background :-)
I have prepared them for easy printing in three sizes (A5, A6 and A7).<hr>As well as discussing symmetry, other nice activities to do with students include asking:
+“What maths words can be made using only letters which have exactly one line of symmetry?”
+“How many different maths words can be made (at the same time) using only one set of 26 letters?”
+“What’s the shortest sentence, which is the mathematical equivalent of The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog ?”

In some questions it is just a matter of completing the square but more often, students will be required to use the result to solve the quadratic equation or to identify the coordinates of the turning point of the curve.

Three worksheets with carefully selected questions that allow students to take the First Steps, then Strengthen and Extend their skills in multiplying two binomial expressions such as (x+2)(x–5), gradually moving to (2x–7)(x+3) and eventually to multiplying a binomial with a trinomial (in the Extend sheet). They are also great for GCSE revision - the more able students can save time by focusing on the questions at the bottom-right of the sheet.

Ideal for GCSE revision, this worksheet contains exam-type questions that gradually increase in difficulty. This sheet covers Converting Recurring Decimals into Fractions. Look out for the last few questions on the sheet - they could (and have) come up!
These review sheets are great to use in class or as a homework. They are also excellent for one-to-one tuition and for interventions.
For similar-style revision sheets on other topics, click 👉 tes.com/../more...
Answers are included, as is a NEW STYLE of PowerPoint, which allows individual questions to be selected for enlarged display onto a screen. The answer can then be worked out ‘live’ by the teacher (or student) or a single click will reveal my solution. This not only helps in class, but it is also very useful for a student who is revising at home 😀.

These reusable cards are excellent for one-to-one tutorials and interventions. They are also great when working with small groups or as a starter/plenary for a whole class. For Loop Cards on more than 50 other topics click 👉 www.tes.com/../more....
This particular set of cards allows students to practise working out fractions of quantities when the numerator of the fraction is not ‘1’.
Note that the questions have been carefully selected so that they provide good coverage of this topic and so that the opportunities for students to guess answers are minimised.
Colour coding:
All my loop cards are colour-coded to indicate the approximate level of the questions:
KS2 – red and orange
KS3/GCSE Foundation – orange and green
GCSE Higher – green, blue and purple
Further information:
In this download there are four sets of similar cards and a student chooses one of the sets and sorts them into order by answering the questions. Then they try to do it faster using a different set, which has the same questions, but a different sort order 😃
My favourite use of loop cards is for two students to have different versions of the cards and race each other. They then check their answers, shuffle, swap packs and race again (quickest overall time wins). More instructions are included in the download.
Cut out card size is approx. 65 x 90 mm.

A revision sheet (with answers) containing IGCSE exam-type questions, which require the students to differentiate to work out equations for velocity and acceleration.
This sheet is designed for International GCSE revision (IGCSE), but could also be used as a homework for first-year A-level students.

Ideal for GCSE revision, this worksheet contains exam-type questions that gradually increase in difficulty. This sheet covers Area of Shaded Regions and all the questions involve calculating the area of a circle in some way.
Not only is this sheet great for both Higher and Foundation GCSE revision, but it can also be used with younger students (I have used this sheet very successfully with Y8 (excepting the last two questions - which will stretch the most able older students!)
