Tried and tested time-saving resources with customisable activities, example top grade answers and smart targets to show students how to raise their grade. These resources come from my favourite classes and the tutees who've taught me, one to one, how students really think about what we're trying to teach them in class. Please do get in touch if you have any questions or suggestions because I love to hear how they're working for you, and constantly working to improve.

Creative Writing Unit: Family & What If? 14 Beautiful Images KS2 KS3

(1)
14 gorgeous images to inspire stories on topics students can't stop talking about. Students often like to tell stories about their own experiences – a time they had an accident, crazy family members, pets, and love playing with possibilities: if they had a robot, superpowers, were a secret agent, had five pet penguins or a tiger came to tea. Spark their creativity with these beautiful images and lively class discussion. The scheme is differentiated for all abilities with two sets of targets fitted to common mistakes students make. They will learn to assess their own and each other's work, thinking about how to frame stories readers will enjoy.

Unit of work with 28 gorgeous images to prompt writing to describe. This focusses on building vocabulary as well as sensory language writing skills through games as well as longer exercises and homework. Peer review and self-marking are supported plus exemplars for students to annotate and guide their own writing. Field-tested SMART targets help students raise their grade. This differentiated scheme is suitable for all abilities between 11-16. At GCSE it can be used for controlled assessment, as well as those who will be tested purely by exam in 2017. These resources can stand alone or blend seamlessly with any Creative Writing unit. They have been trialled in two Outstanding schools as well as one to one work with reluctant writers.
