A differentiated starter, introduction for both ActivInspire and Smartboard and an activity where children can apply their new knowledge and AFL / Next Steps plenary class activity. Also included is a youtube video and resources for distance learning. Learning Objectives:: To recognise value of Tens and ones (starter), LO: To recognise the value of each coin.(main) This lesson consists of: A starter revising the value of various ten bars and one cubes as numbers, followed by an introduction to using lines and dots to draw numbers represented by ten bars and one cubes. An activity where children draw lines and dots to match ten bars and one cubes and identify the value. An Interactive Whiteboard introduction for both Notebook and ActivInspire flipchart revising the value of each individual coin using partially covered coins which can be slowly uncovered. An introduction to how to use coins to make money up to the value of 20p. A youtube video link for distance learning introducing the starter, main part of the lesson and the AFL / Next Steps plenary. An independent task where children use coins to make money up to the value of 20p. A Next steps / AFL Challenge plenary where the children again consider why Britain has a range of different coins.

Learning Objectives:: LO: To recognise one more and one less of currency.(starter) LO: To measure and begin to record time(main) This lesson consists of: A starter revising the value of different British coins, followed by a 2-way differentiated activity to find one more and one less of given set of coins. An Interactive Whiteboard introduction for both Notebook and ActivInspire flipchart revising the language of time and introducing the core activity where children estimate and record how many of each activity they can complete in a minute. A youtube video link for distance learning introducing the starter, main part of the lesson and the AFL / Next Steps plenary. An independent task where children work in pairs to estimate and record how many of each activity they can complete in a minute . A Next steps / AFL Challenge plenary where children consider whether the activities they found easier they could perform more often.

A differentiated starter, introduction for both ActivInspire and Smartboard, and differentiated activity with an extension activity for use in Continuous Provision and AFL / Next Steps plenary class activity. Learning Objective: To represent numbers beyond 20 This lesson consists of: A differentiated starter – Exchange Up. A counting game for groups of children to take in turns counting up to a target number of 20 (LA), 30 (MA) 40 (HA) using base 10 equipment and a dice. A second starter finding the value of numbers represented by tens and ones. An Interactive Whiteboard teaching introduction for both Notebook and ActivInspire flipchart building on the skill of one to one correspondence before extending this to teach grouping into tens and ones using Base 10 equipment and linked to recognising the number of tens and ones that are used to represent a number. A youtube video link for distance learning introducing the starter, main part of the lesson and the AFL / Next Steps plenary. A differentiated series of tasks requiring the use of grouping and Base 10 equipment to identify the value of objects in a number grid to help link sets of tens and ones to numbers. A final AFL / Next Steps task, where children apply their knowledge of tens and ones by showing the value of given numbers represented by Base ten equipment.
