Entire Level 1 Travel Training course for students with SEN.
These 30 resources form an entire Travel Training course for Level 1 students.
It incorporates the NOCN Discover Local History L1 course, to embed students’ interests into a fun Travel Training course.
By using the NOCN Discover Local History criteria, students can plan and carry out journeys to local places of historical interest after choosing a topic, such as the Romans, local landmarks, local scientific inventions, history of local music venues etc.
Students then research their topic, take photographs at the locations they visit and add these to a PowerPoint, which is then presented at the end of the year, covering the NOCN criteria.

This is a resource I use for students that require Travel Training sessions.
In order to develop transferable skills, students are required to plan journeys on public transport.
This resource is a scenario where students can plan a trip to their local Game store.
You just need to add the appropriate info (street names etc.) for your local area!
It gives advice to students of things they need to consider when planning their journey.
It also encourages budgeting skills
This is a resource I use for students who require Travel Training sessions.
At the beginning of the year, the students state what their EHCP travel training goal is and how they will achieve it in sessions.
This resource is then used to review progress and achievement half way through the year and again at the end of the year.

Students are tasked with creating and conducting a survey (to work on their communication skills and confidence).

It can also be used to develop students’ Excel document skills by collating the results into a bar chart or graph.
