This is a 4 page resource can be used for students that require support in building social skills, such as students with Autism or Entry Level 1-3. Students can cut out the various listening skills and then sort them into good listening skills and poor listening skills and stick them under the appropriate headings. This is a resource I use with students that require Travel Training sessions. This is a fun activity to do with students as a break from regular Travel Training sessions. Students can complete a photography scavenger hunt, where they have to practice their road safety skills whilst walking around their local area, taking photographs of a variety of things, such as a round-a-bout or zebra crossing. Feel free to delete any options that are not relevant to your local area, or add others in.

This resource can be used for students completing a Gaming or Media Studies course. This is a 4 page game review worksheet for the video game 5 Nights at Freddy’s, where students answer questions about tasks within the game, comparisons with games of the same genre, characters, graphics and sound etc. This can be used as an extension task after students have played the game or for substitute teaching.

This is a resource I use with students completing a Functional Skills - English/Literacy course. It is a Speaking and Listening task, where students have to roleplay or practice making a phone call. The resource states strategies for making a successful phone call. This resource could be used for SEN students, to support them with the Speaking and listening course criteria.

It is a 5 page worksheet, where students are required to read the excerpts of the HG Wells novel, The War of the Worlds and answer questions about the text. It includes questions about the places in the UK mentioned in the book, such as: Horsell Common Leatherhead Shepperton Church Putney Hill London Questions about the text includes: How do you think the residents living nearby to Horsell Common would feel reading about Martians crashing into the common? Does it make a difference that the Martians chose to attack rural England first, rather than London? This resource would be appropriate for Level 2 students and beyond.

This is a resource I use with SEN students who require Travel Training sessions. It is a road safety self assessment that I get my students to complete when using road safety in the local community. It covers road safety when walking and using crossings.

This resource can be used for students studying Film or Media Studies. This is a 2 page resource that encourages students to think about the advantages and disadvantages of film poster advertisement placement (on bus stops, in magazines etc.) There is a table for students to complete. This resource can be used as an extension task to stretch and challenge students when studying film marketing.

I use this ICT/Computing resource as an extension task during ICT sessions. This is an Excel Spreadsheet task, where students are asked to research the costings for an ICT computer system. This resource can support budgeting skills for SEN students doing ICT courses. This resource could also be used as a substitute teacher resource.

I use this Year Plan to plan my teaching year out before completing my Scheme of Learning. I like how you can see the whole year on one page. I usually create one for each subject. The Year Plan can be put at the front of each students’ folder and the student can see where they’re up to too. This Year Plan is for the academic year 2023-2024.

Students should read the extracts and comment on the use of colour used by Wells in the descriptions. How does the use of colour and descriptions make the reader feel about the aliens and what is happening?
