I use this resource for students studying Game or Media Studies. It can be used as an extension task or for substitute teaching. Students are given a commonly thought statement about video games (violent, only for teenagers and geared towards males) and they are challenged to prove if the statement is true or false by providing any evidence to the contrary. It could also be used as the basis for a debate/discussion for Functional Skills English/Literacy.

This resource can be used for students completing a Film or Media Studies course. This is a 3 page research task using the IMDB (Internet Movie Database) website. Students are asked to research their favourite film on the IMDB website. It provides the opportunity for students to recognise websites as a source of information. This resource could also be adapted for ICT/Computing Internet research tasks.

I like how you can see the whole year on one page :) The Year Plan can be put at the front of each students’ folder and the student can see where they’re up to too, ideal for SEN students who like to know what’s coming next! This Year Plan is for the academic year 2023-2024 and is easily adapted to suit your curriculum needs. I use this resource for students completing an Art and Design course. It is a 3 page PowerPoint that I print out and use as an Initial Assessment questionnaire with visuals, which may be useful for students with SEN. It is a good way to gauge what Art activities the students have/haven’t tried before and if there is any they wouldn’t like to do. This is a great way to inform the planning of your Art course and be inclusive to any potential sensory needs for SEN students.

These 4 evidence sheets can be used to organise the students Entry Level 3 NOCN (National Open College Network) Painting course portfolio, in order to make it easier to find the NOCN criteria evidence. They are usually placed in front the accompanying NOCN Painting Entry Level 3 Portfolio Assessment Sheets (which are an opportunity for students to provide photographic evidence for their qualification). NOCN Painting L/506/7901. It covers all criteria, from 1.1 to 4.2.

These worksheets are for the entire NOCN (National Open College Network) Art Appreciation Entry Level 3 course. There are 10 worksheets, which covers the criteria 1.1 to 3.2 and it also includes a photographic evidence sheet and the assessment sheets to help organise the portfolio into sections and state what assessment evidence has been gathered. This is a 1 page resource that includes an Art rubric that can be used as a self assessment by students completing an art course. It is easily adaptable to suit whatever art criteria you need. I used it with my students with Autism who were completing Art NOCN (National Open College Network) courses. It is a good way for students to visually see how they are progressing throughout their Art course and what criteria is still left to achieve.

I use this 2 page resource for students completing Art courses. After researching potential Art and Design careers, students then create a piece of artwork based on that career. Students then complete the worksheet at the end, stating what career they researched, what artwork they created (with photographic examples), if they found the career interesting and what others they would like to explore. I use this resource at the end of the Art course as a CEIAG (Careers, Education, Information Advice & Guidance) session.

This is a resource I use for SEN students who are completing Art sessions. At the beginning of the year, the students state what their Art EHCP goal is and how they will achieve it in sessions. This resource is then used to review progress and achievement half way through the year and again at the end of the year. (See accompanying Art EHCP goal set up sheet.)

This resource can be used with students that require support around building social skills. This is an activity where students can list 6 conversations starters on the sheet, before writing them onto a cube net and creating a conversation starter dice. You could use it as a social skills activity during Travel Training sessions, where students are encourage to practice good social skills in the local community; or used as evidence towards the Rarpa, PfA - Preparing for Adulthood target of Friends, Relationships & Community Skills.

This is a 3 page resource where students can self assess their work after completing an art project. It asks students state the art movement, which formal art elements have been used, what went well, what would improve the work, the inspiration behind the art work and to add photographic evidence of the work. There is also an opportunity for tutors to provide feedback and what next steps are needed.

This is a resource I use for students that require Travel Training sessions. This 3 page resources gives students the opportunity to thoroughly plan their journey via West Midlands Metro transport. Suitable for students Entry Level 3 and up.
