These resources span my career; from my period of teaching unqualified, through to an AST of English & Director of Teaching & Learning. Although my specialism is English, I have taught GCSE Citzienship, Language and Lit, Media Studies, Maths & History. I have also taught all of those at Key Stage 3, so there is an eclectic mix here. As the main trainer in my previous school, I have uploaded many insets and training session powerpoints too.

This is 1 of 5 lessons that is based on the Apprentice. Pupils analyse texts and the programme in order to come up with their own product and deliver a pitch. The Pitch is assessed as the GCSE group work speaking and listening component. The Real feel of the product is to ensure that they are competent with what they are actually talking about. All lessons are uploaded with the powerpoint and the resources as separate uploads but they are numbered and labelled as above for ease of searching.

Letter Writing Level 3 - Writing to an Author

This is a mini scheme of work that gets pupils to engage with the stories of Roger Hurn and then to write to him. Roger is a contributor to the TES and was excellent at reading and responding to the letters from these level 3 pupils with SEN. They absolutely loved the letter that they received back as he addressed them all by name and it is still up in their classroom. This is a fab scheme for primary age / ability pupils.

You can readily adapt this lesson to your own needs - but basically, pupils really get into planning your wedding for you and then present with all of the key ingredients listed - you judge and they get a piece of S & L coursework done.
