Manchester Music SOW overview This is scheme of work overview for an English scheme of work on Manchester Music. I have uploaded all of the lessons and the resources if you would like to find them. However, this is also good for you to use as a starting point for long term planning.

Writing to persuade - Selling The School lesson. This is one lesson with resources from a scheme of work that I've delivered about informative and persuasive writing. The theme was advterising and selling the school. The lessons obviously have context specific images and detail and you will want to change these for your own delivery but there are a variety of tasks involved that hit all different types of writing and the pupils really like the real life context. This is 1 lesson of 10 that i've uploaded - each as a separate upload with resources attached as all can be taught standalone too.

Writing To Describe Techniques & Stimulus PP 8 This is a full lesson PP on the topic of writing to describe - I've uploaded 13 in total from this series and all have avrious different stimuli but use the same techniques of appealing to the senses and covering writing techniques. Alll can be used together or as standalone - just may need some adapting to your own topic.

Titanic SOW for Level 2/3 pupils(in KS3) lesson This is one full lesson plan with the pp and resources (if I made them) that is part of a full scheme of work that I have uploaded. There are 18 lessons altoghter and they have all been uploaded separately. In some cases, there is only a lesson plan as I've planned it but not made all the PPs. I will add PPs as I create them. Aimed at year 7 who are below level 4 and utilises lots of Kagan practice.

This is a scheme of work that I have revisited and updated for 2012, to include all APP frameworks, persuasive techniques and analysis of the Death Penalty. The scheme looks at murderers and results in a question about whether or not we should bring back the death penalty. Pupils end by writing a di More…scursive essay, as if they are under controlled assessment conditions, as I am trying to prepare year 9 for their GCSE years. If you want every lesson, type in '2012 Death Penalty Lesson Miss R' and they should come up in a list. This one covers analysis of the effects of writer's choices.

Identify and explain key lines from the key scenes that show that Macbeth’s character is changing. Select quotes that show that his behaviour and outlook are becoming different from before the murder of Duncan. - This uses the template style of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.

Full lesson PP History of Ben Johnson This is a full lesson PP on the history of Ben Johnson. It’s only a starting point as I used it when I was unqualified some years ago but gives some basic information and can be adapted.

This is one of the many lessons and resources that I have uploaded for the teaching of Macbeth to year 7s working at level 4/5 in English. It's based on an end result of old SATs style type question that can be APP'd. These are 2 sheets - One is just the question and instructions. The other is differentiated with a writing frame - Question: Imagine you are going to direct these extracts for a theatre performance. Explain how the actor playing Macbeth should show his reactions, and give reasons for your suggestions.

This is 1 of 5 lessons that is based on the Apprentice. Pupils analyse texts and the programme in order to come up with their own product and deliver a pitch. The Pitch is assessed as the GCSE group work speaking and listening component. The Real feel of the product is to ensure that they are competent with what they are actually talking about. All lessons are uploaded with the powerpoint and the resources as separate uploads but they are numbered and labelled as above for ease of searching.

This is part of a full scheme of work - all powerpoints and resources have been uploaded. Powerpoints are all separate uploads, saved by lesson numbers 1,2,3 etc. There are 9 lessons in total. Also uploaded as part of this section are resources. All lessons are saved under 'Nobody Has a Private Life'. This scheme is quite old, and will need some adapting as it was written in my PGCE year. However, it's a good starting point and pupils have very much enjoyed it over the years. Also has strong citizenship links!

Also uploaded is the full scheme of work with the resources as well as one by one lesson Powerpoints for the scheme, that have all been uploaded separately as 'Death penalty Writing Scheme lesson 1' etc, Written in my NQT year, it will need some updating to include APP criteria and AFL, but it appeals to all learners and has been very very popular over the years; a great starting point and it includes many citizenship strands. Reading Challenge Lesson 8 These are a series of lessons and pps that were designed to support the delivery of the Dfes unit of work on Reading Skills. There are 12 lessons altogether and i have uploaded them all as separate entities as each can be used as a standalone lesson or you can use all 12.
