Target Setting Lessons to Boost Pupils from 3 to 4: These lessons are part of a project that is challenged with boosting pupils from level 3c to 4c. Each week starts with a new focus on literacy, numeracy, kagan techniques and a personal target. Pupils need a target book to work with and this less More…on is delivered at the begining of every week. Targets are then tracked through all of their lessons for the week to chart their progress. Writing to persuade - Selling The School lesson. This is one lesson with resources from a scheme of work that I've delivered about informative and persuasive writing. The theme was advterising and selling the school. The lessons obviously have context specific images and detail and you will want to change these for your own delivery but there are a variety of tasks involved that hit all different types of writing and the pupils really like the real life context. This is one of several powerpoint lessons that I have uploaded for KS3 pupils that gets them to investigate the use of shock tactics. The lesson is ready to teach with it's resources (if aplicable). Although, you will wish to adapt and differentiate for your own class. They can be taught together to reach an assessment outcome, but all are suitable as standalone exploratory lessons. This lesson gets pupils to analyse the use of shock tactics in the news.

Holes SOW Lesson PPs to support text; lesson This is one of a series of lessons that i have uploaded to structure the reading of the text Holes - aimed at year 8, the scheme breaks down the chapters / character and themes and prepares students of literature study. made in my PGCE year, so not great but can be adapted and should provoke ideas for lessons, if nothing else.

Autobiography Full Lesson for Level 3 /4 writers This is a fully self contained lesson that is part of a scheme of 7 that have all been uploaded separately under the same title. The scheme is aimed at level 3 and 4 writers and goes through the Autobiography henre before teaching pupils how to write an extract for their own. Also uploaded is the same scheme for level 5 writers.

This is one lesson that I have taken from a whole scheme of lessons. Each poem can be used as an individual lesson, or, if you would like to teach all of the lessons, search for ' Poetry Scheme - 3 Poems - Lesson Miss R' and they should all come up for you to work with. At the end of the unit, there is a reading and writing assessment that involves analysis and creativity too. This lesson covers developing a narrative out of one of the poems.
