These resources span my career; from my period of teaching unqualified, through to an AST of English & Director of Teaching & Learning. Although my specialism is English, I have taught GCSE Citzienship, Language and Lit, Media Studies, Maths & History. I have also taught all of those at Key Stage 3, so there is an eclectic mix here. As the main trainer in my previous school, I have uploaded many insets and training session powerpoints too.

AQA Lang Controlled Assessment Oliver Twist lsn This is a scheme of work that was used for coursework on the old spec. & it can now be adapted é changed for the teaching of Oliver Twist (pre 1914 prose). This was written to gather info. on how the state treated Oliver but can now be used for either identity or family, depending on the year of entry. All lesson powerpoints have been uploaded as separate lessons with the same heading above, so they can be easily searched for and resources that I have, are uploaded with the lessons too for ease of locating.

In order to support teaching poetry at key stage 4, we start with it in year 9 and use the AQA themes. This is a lesson that helps KS3 pupils to analyse the poem in relation to identity. Basically, it's a writing structure.

This is one of several tutorials that I use with pupils to get them to invesitigate an element of pre 1914 poetry so that they can present back to the class and teach the class. They create a lesson on the topic and the pp that I have uploaded is their guide to what they should be researching. Dual assessed as a speaking and listening activity. This is one of several resources that I have uploaded for the teaching of Pre1914 poetry. This is taught to develop pupils comparing skills and would be relevant to the AQA new specification for language and poetry. This particular resource is a starter for teaching the poem Elegy. Give pupils a card at the start fo the lesson and get them to pair up with their opposite word. Words are taken from the poem.

GCSE Old Spec. Exam Practise scheme lesson This is one lesson from a set of 9 that have all been uploaded separately. Although, the Old specification is no longer used for GCSE, I am aware of colleagues that still use past papers for teaching the skills for the new spec. Therefore, althout these lessons may not be relevant in the mainstream, they can be adapted and still used for revision purposes.
