This is a full lesson to help pupils studying for the AQA foundation Language paper to improve their technique on the shorter writing task: L.O. To learn steps to success for the writing tasks, in the exam. To be able to use vocabulary effectively.

LO: To deliberately use writing techniques to improve the effect of my writing. Success Criteria: By the end of the lesson, I will be able to provide examples of different types of words or techniques and use them in accurate sentences to write about an image.

This is a full staff training powerpoint that can be used to empower teachers to use the 6 steps of creativity, creatively. All images of pupils have been removed - hence some odd gaps.

This is a full lesson PP that revises adjectives, verbs, nouns etc and encourages pupils to use them to build sentences.

These lessons are about writing about crime and encourage pupils to draft and detail their setting.

This lesson is for a GCSE class at grade G - moving up to C. This one allows the teacher to establish prior knowledge before starting to plan the whole scheme.

This is another one of the schemes of work created for year 9 that introduces the art of speaking and listening and breaks it down against the AQA criteria - so preparing pupils for when they start to be assessed in year 10.

Those that know this scheme - in which pupils are encouraged to come up with a fundraising idea, carry it out and then raise money for a charity and entering all info onto a blog - will know that the original lessons are seriously dry and do not engage pupils in the topic at all. However, this is the scheme that I created last year when this was the approach adopted by the Head. Although these lessons are aimed at both specs, the full scheme is more IGCSE skills and texts than the AQA. I have already uploaded the Woman In Black scheme for writing that I created last year. These were the lessons that i added to it to vary it for year 9, where they are being taught the skills of redrafting and rewriting in preparation for completing planning - so they are taught using the AQA sheets and taught the skills that they will need ti use independently when they start GCSE.

his is an old one but there is still merit in it. From when SATs were still part of the year 9 tests, this lesson can be adapted into a written assignment when studying Macbeth. Its about how the Macbeth persuades the killers to murder Banquo.

This is a lesson to structure the writing task mock - the teacher can go through both of the questions prior to pupils attempting them so it provides an opportunity for class planning / scaffolding before pupils attempt the mock.
