These resources span my career; from my period of teaching unqualified, through to an AST of English & Director of Teaching & Learning. Although my specialism is English, I have taught GCSE Citzienship, Language and Lit, Media Studies, Maths & History. I have also taught all of those at Key Stage 3, so there is an eclectic mix here. As the main trainer in my previous school, I have uploaded many insets and training session powerpoints too.

Poetry Techniques - Follow Me - lesson Starter

This is one of several resources that I have uploaded for the teaching of Pre1914 poetry. This is taught to develop pupils comparing skills and would be relevant to the AQA new specification for language and poetry. This particular resource is a starter. Cut up the strips with the definition of one on and the title of another, pupils then have to find their definition to form a line across the classroom.

This is one of many 'Of Mce and Men' resources that I have collected over the years of teaching the novel. I've taught it for various exam boards and in schools in various parts of the country and all will be of some use. You may wish to adopt the Powerpoint lessosn to what your teaching 'slant' / topic is, but I hope they will be of use. For ease of finding, all are listed under the novel title.

Nobody has A private Life whole scheme of work

This is part of a full scheme of work - all powerpoints and resources have been uploaded. Powerpoints are all separate uploads, saved by lesson numbers 1,2,3 etc. There are 9 lessons in total. Also uploaded as part of this section are resources. All lessons are saved under 'Nobody Has a Private Life'. This scheme is quite old, and will need some adapting as it was written in my PGCE year. However, it's a good starting point and pupils have very much enjoyed it over the years. Also has strong citizenship links!

Year 7 Transition Unit Intro To School Lesson 5

This is one of 11 lessons that combine to make a full scheme of work. The lessons are designed for teaching when the pupils first join secondary school and they are based on their early experiences of school. I have uploaded all lessons with the same title above and each has a PP (if I made it) and the resources with it. In the odd case, it will just be a lesson plan. Lesson 1 has a scheme overview attached for all lessons. You will want to adapt for your own school.
