Thanksgiving Edition: Complete with a real recipe for real pumpkin soup, this pack will enable your students to try making their own pumpkin soup. They will learn interesting details about preparation and presentation as they work their way through the workbook. Page 2 concentrates on Thanksgiving rather than actual pumpkin soup. Students answer simple questions and identify seasonal vegetables in a photograph before describing and labelling what food and drink they and their families enjoy at Thanksgiving. This is a logic puzzle activity for English Speakers or learners of English. Learners will enjoy working in pairs or groups to share their understanding of the clues and discuss their suggestions for allocating witches from different countries to the correct houses, working out their pets and favourite drinks as well as their hats. It’s all a bit ‘eek’, but good fun nonetheless. :) Logic puzzles not only help to exercise the brain, they also further the development of learners’ deduction skills, critical thinking ability and strategy skills. If working together, students will also use and grow their communication skills.
