The Futures Channel is a brilliant website which has video clips and lesson plans for what many maths teachers consider to be the Holy Grail... examples of real life maths! The stuff on there already is very good, and new content seems to be being added all the time. Definitely worth a look!

The National Library of Visual Manipulative is a fantastic website crammed full of really impressive little applets. These applets provide interesting and innovative ways for visualising some of the most important concepts in maths. I am a particular fan of the congruent triangles resource and the balance beam for solving linear equations. A lovely website that is certainly worth a visit. Mr Barton's Web Whizz Video 7 each week I visit my favourite mathematics websites. Something a bit different this week - a really interesting set of online “calculators” from Cleave Books. Now, these are not your standard calculators. Oh no, these allow you and your students to calculate everything you could possibly want to know about 2D and 3D shapes, as well as everything from the Cost of Living to units of alcohol. This lends itself nicely to some rich challenging questions to pose to your students.

A few years ago I wrote a set of notes for pupils and put them on my website. The notes were supposed to be written in a pupil-friendly way, and different to notes students might find in textbooks or elsewhere on the internet. I have converted the notes to PowerPoint slides so you can download them, adapt them if needed, use them in revision lessons or perhaps give your students a set to take home with them to help them prepare for exams. The chances are there will be a few mistakes here and there, so if you spot any please email me & I will correct them. Hope they are of use!
